I have an elusive coolant leak (imagine that). It slowly leaks when the car is cold, which indicates to me that the system does not have to be under pressure for it to leak. The leak is on the passenger side and I assume close to the block, probably between the block and the firewall. I notice it dripping off the cat on the passenger side, the part of the cat closest to the firewall.

It seems to pretty well aft of the water pump. It is not towards the top of the motor. Are there fairly easily accessible coolant hoses in the location that I describe?

If it's dripping off the cat, chances are it's the water pump leaking out the weep hole. It runs down the block, and out the timing cover onto the cat, right below the crank. Hope this helps.

Well doc, the only one I can think of on the passenger side, is the lower radiator hose. But if you have an outright leak in the radiator, it might be leaking down onto the cat, giving you a coolant smell, or one of the endlinks can be leaking onto the cat as well. That is what mine is doing now, so I am awaiting my new radiator in the mail. :D
