I was never interested in any kind of Taurus until the SHO model arrived. Still not. I would take a 2 door non-retro T-bird maybe with a good powerplant. As for Asian cars, I think you are looking past some quality choices. I've been eyeballing used Lexus recently. Quality and performance are not so bad after many years fixing domestic cars (and I've loved/hated my SHO's and loved my GTP)

LOL - Well I have never owned anything but Ford and you all make great points, it depends on how long before I need a new "nice car" if I can still find a nice low mileage SHO that I like that would be my first choice, BUT I got spoiled, I really love the AWD sedan so IDK what I will do when the time comes but Ford is just about dead to me at this point. If I have to buy foreign car I would rather it be European then Asian, but that's just me.

- I had NOT heard that but that's even more stupid then not making any sedans, they did the same thing with the Thunderbird and Cougar started screwing around with it and they are no more. The Mustang is GREAT at what it does, as long as they keep making enough models so one is affordable and one will roast the tires off the rims they will keep selling them for years. Anyway I'll be in the SHO for awhile.

I'm with you on this. I occasionally wonder what kind of car I can replace the sho with in the future but can't choose anything. Unless one of these stupid lotto tickets finally come through.

As much as I hate to say it, the closest thing to the SHO looks to be the AWD Kia Stinger. Their performance is pretty impressive, especially for what they cost.

I have side glanced the stinger a couple times but my problem is that I am now spoiled by awd and I see the stinger without awd is quicker than the optional awd model.

I have no doubt its a great car with impressive performance and I'm not saying I will never buy a car from Asia, BUT when I was growing up there was ONLY American cars and then the "Rice Burners" showed up and most people picked a side. I have not watched a NASCAR race since Toyota took the track, I know its stubborn, pig headed, and generally ignorant of me BUT I'm just not there yet. I can not go form my Ford to a KIA, I would not feel good about myself.

Maybe BUT the Panamera is not a stretched 9-11 its a completely different car, additionally most people who drive Porche's are very brand loyal, I really don't see the market. I understand they will still build the two door BUT sometimes you can tarnish a car's image so badly it damages the entire fleet. Let me ask you this anyone interested in a two door Taurus, I am not, BUT as I said above I'm not the most progressive person when it comes to what I drive.

Like all future cars they will build a prototype to test the market. I'm just hoping for a fast AWD sedan. If not, I will go back to a Mustang for a summer car and an SUV for winter and pulling trailers.

You forget that this is a positive displacement pump whose flow increases with rpm because it is cam driven...

Ah yes, you are correct, I had forgotten that. Its using relatively more fuel at 3500 rpm than at 5300 when we factor in the pump rpm difference. That would explain it.

Hi Matt,
Now that I will be driving the AO GH tune using an X4, I have one question:
Are high 12's possible using datalogs, and not adding a high pressure fuel pump?
Thanks

Yes, I ran against another SHO at Maryland International Raceway.

She had the AO from GH, 3BAR, KN airfilter, and HR springs. She ran consistent 12.8’s all night in summer air.

All day......I run an E30 tune and I am deep into the 12's with a completely stock fuel system. I can still get more out of it.

High 12s are normal for 91+ octane on the AO tuning.

Ok meaning the computer manages the spark and fuel, within set parameters set by the tuner, based on the computers octane rating?

On the 13+ the Gearhead tune will vary maximum boost allowed based in inferred octane. This is in addition to the normal spark adjustments.

Dream tune. If your travel and can't get 93 octane, the tune will back off enough to not ruin the motor, adjusting to whatever you put in.

I started driving again three days ago and have already gone 300+ miles on the GearheadAuto Octane tune. It's perfect. ZERO issues with shifting, regardless of outside temperature or road traction. It just works, exactly like the v10 did, but I'm pretty sure the car is faster. Will know for sure in spring when the track opens.
Again, thanks to all on this forum. I love my car again!!

Thanks to OmaHahn for all his hard work in starting this great thread. I learned a great deal and my car will be spared further stress on the powertrain, while still giving that 'little extra fun' a good tune brings.

I've been away from this thread for about 2 weeks - damn work gets in the way! Time to retire! Anyway, glad I could pay back anyone in this community for all the help I've received over the last 5 years! Thanks everyone! And special thanks go out to SHOdded & bpd1151!

Now I want to sell my LMS MyCal, etc. Can I sell this or worth anything?
