Mob mentality is real around here. Looks like if I keep asking simple yet controversial questions that I'm going become the next yaycandy. Comical that because I'm new (6mo) to the platform and forum that I'm somehow a noob to cars. I'm not trying to flex titles here so I'm not sure why it is always brought up. But i hope that the amount and quality of threads I have posted in 6mo of being here would show I'm not a 20yr ignorant kid.
802SHO, I have no dog in this fight. I could care less. My main confusion is that ANY and EVERY post about LMS or from LMS is replied with "**** off LMS" "SCAMMERS" "Buyer beware, rip off" etc. I don't feel like the label fits. If they are scammers, if they are so terrible, then why are they not banned from the forum?
I love the list of issues SM105K just made. All those issues are also known as racecar problems. Aside from **customer service problems**, these are things that happen when trying to break into a new platform and/or break past a plateau on a platform. My old Evo was tuned by tuning tech (nationally known) out of Cali. On E85 it would not start under 50 degrees outside. Off E85, It ran so fat I would have to wash soot off the back weekly. By the way, a new fuel pump was the FIRST thing they told you to get. My buddy Josh Weisman's Evo wouldn't keep an engine longer that a month without failure. That is tuning!
**(Speaking of customer service if it wasn't for a locals helping me out, I would have had no idea what Torrie needed for logs, if he even wanted logs, what his tunes changed on my car, what complications my car was having during tuning.. etc. The man literally took my funds, shipped the programmer and sent an email with a file and the words "file attached". Fiveleeter was the one who told me that without logging the original file is essentially stock. He was the one who suggested the 2.5 bar MAP. Delgato was who suggested monitoring KR. I had to start asking Unleashed "should I do this, do you need this..so on" to get anywhere. But I have not once bashed Unleashed for it. And I will say, headache and assumption aside, the tune is pretty decent now.)**
I appreicate you responding to our post but the narrative from you is constant bashing livernois so i do not think we could ever make you happy, as far as learning from other tuners we do not do what anyone else does we learn with development on vehicles at our shop. The main things that have been done here is map adjsutments, some fuel adjustments across the curve, and some of the shifting.Did you guys figure out what other tuners were doing with the Stock HPFP and realize you were wrong? Post after post during V11 debacle your only fix was to upgrade the fuel pump. My stock HPFP on E30 tune only still makes more power than your T460 full bolt on car. It not made significantly more power and was faster at the strip. Also it was also $2400 dollars less.

From what we have been told other tuners run the fuel at .80-.82 lambda, which in our mind is too lean we do not do that. That will fix the fuel pressure fall off but that also runs the car too lean.

To be fair....
My E30 tune only SHO in the 108 heat, made more power safely and was faster than most full bolt on LMS cars...even the meth ones. If I paid the price of my SHO plus another $3254 and got jack stomped by a tune only car....I would be livid. It just proves you don't need all the junk they sell to make more power tune only.
E30 USES MORE FUEL THEN 93! STILL SAFE.E30 != 93 pump
E30 USES MORE FUEL THEN 93! STILL SAFE.

Different fuel... handles more stress...
I’m just saying you can’t compare your custom E30 tune datalogged and tuned specifically for your car/fuel to a dyno tune on 93 octane that has to account for variance in fuel from Michigan to where ever that SHO owner lives...
Yes I can. LMS says the stock HPFP can't handle hopped up tunes. Most SHO's stock dyno 300 hp and 300 tq to the tire. So by their reasoning the power put out by my car which is almost 100 awhp and almost 200 awtq more then stock to the tire, using a fuel that stresses the stock fuel pump more isn't feasible. With only having 91 octane here and E54 out of the pump, my fuel is 95 octane. I use more fuel by volume (which they say isn't safe) of it being E30 then LMS does with their 93 octane.
It literally punches holes in their narrative saying the stock HPFP isn't capable of supporting the power LMS "deems" safe, which so happens they have a fix for...for another $1600 dollars.
Can't beat the 10speed experience!!!!Just as a follow up, I already had the latest revision which was done earlier in the year just wasnt announced, to my understanding from what was explained to me. Is it the fastest tune? Absolutely not but the majority of cars get the gap, especially light to light. I do feel safe running it. I don't have fuel pressure issues. (I monitor it with Torque ever since i had original v11 issues.) Shifting feels just a tad more harsh than my stock tune does but not like previous v11 shift harshness. SHO is my daily and it gets the job done. Ive thought and talked about going to other tuners but am more than likely just sticking with LMS. Trying to get out of the platform altogether this year. Looking at 18+ 5.0 10 speed.
I try to give every company or business I deal with a chance to correct their mistakes. With me they did. I understand for many others they did not do so, even mistreating some. I wouldnt call myself a LMS fan boi either but they have dealt with me well. Just my experience.

Headers, intake and e85 is near 500 at the wheel. Its nuts. No fuel system upgrades.Real talk about the 10 speeds, almost irresponsibly fast.
Just e85 tune feels amazing! The 10speed showed how far SCT is behind the curve. HPTuners is the future.Headers, intake and e85 is near 500 at the wheel. Its nuts. No fuel system upgrades.

SBS I know you aren't a fan of LMS and even sold all your LMS parts as fast as you could. We all do and say whatever we want...but gee wizzz...sometimes gotta wonder what hat some of you wear. Don't gotta wonder what hat I wear on any given day or time...my hat says **** LMS hahahahaha
Nailed itYou are right, I did sell all my LMS gear after they tried to bend me over for no reason. I have made no bones about their business practices being suspect and immoral.
It goes without saying who I believe gives me the best overall product and support after trying ALMOST all of them.
But do I believe condemning a company forever in a market where they are one of the only vendors capable of developing new product? No.
