Just loaded the v11 91 3 bar tune and it's missing going into 3rd .feels like neutral . Very disconcerting . I'll contact Anthony .
Sorry for your luck. I'm out of commission now due to back surgery but when I resume my quest for the v11 without issues, I'll post results. I'm on my 3rd iteration, with a fourth available. So far the third iteration has shifted without fail, but on one or two occasions, the tach turned red and it hit the overev control for a brief second, then shifted. I haven't given this third iteration enough running time to adjust to my driving. As long as it does shift, I will continue to log more time to see if it adjusts.

I'm going back to stock until LMS can repair it . Not to fear monger but since it's missing going into gear and hitting the limiter I can't help but wonder if this version is doing some other damage .

I'm calling gearhead on Monday and hooking up with a new sct tuner and the auto octane tune used by omahahn. My fear of ruining my car is now running the sho, (pun intended) and while I've had a great run with LMS, it's time to move on. All other companies who tune our cars use the sct, and I came very close to going that route back in 16 when I bought my v10 tune. A tune I bragged about for two years. But there is a reason everyone else uses sct, and I intend to find out what all the buzz is about.
Good luck to you.

I just bought into there ecosystem two weeks ago before all of these reports surfaced . I'm vested in them for now. LMS has had what appears to be a trouble free history . For those 2 reasons I'm hanging in there for a while before jumping ship .

Didn't LMS come out with a new device?

I wonder what version I have of their tune? The last time I updated it was in April of this year. I've been generally pleased with it, though it has hung-up between first and second a couple of times. I should probably get an updated tune and see how it goes. My car is daily driven, so I'm not looking for the absolute most power. Plus, 91 octane is as good as it gets around here.

I've held off updating because the battery monitoring program, or whatever it is called, will not fully charge the battery, resulting in about 10 seconds of engine off power before it shuts down with the "system off to conserve battery life" message. I've reset it in Forscan, but it doesn't seem to matter. If I want to load a new tune, I have to leave the battery on a charger overnight.

I am interested in the auto-octane feature by GH, though. I travel often and can usually find 93 octane when I'm out of town. It would be nice to take advantage of the additional power available in that case.

Ordering a gh tune tomorrow, though I'm out of commission and won't be able to report for a while. Maybe I can talk my son into taking me out for a spin..... :)

Here is an idea, if there are enough people with the issue, then maybe someone should take the initiative to get a group email together and send it off to LMS with everyone on it?

I can sympathize with both sides. LMS tunes thousands of Ecoboosts... a lot of those are the 3.5 transverse platform. They use a combination of their in-house cars along with knowledge gained from the ones coming into the shop. If they don’t see the issue there, it’s upto feed back from the community to address the issue.

Tuners get hammered with one off issues all the time, unfortunately these are not high end cars and there is greater level of tolerance on these cars... what works for 90% leaves the other 10% scratching their head.

LMS in past has addressed shifting issues..particularly on the v11 after its first release... they made some changes to address it. So it’s not like they are unwilling to help.

If there are enough people with the issue, then like I said, get a group email or a group post in their section going. That might help move things along faster.

It wouldn't take LMS long to total the successfull v11's and the the v11's with issues. Then they break down the complaints into columns, 2-3 no shift, goes to neutral and won't shift until driver let's off, tach needle turns red and bounces off rev limiter, etc. Gathering data that already exists. THEN, they could apply the different program revisions to each column by using rows further down the page. Simple excel sheet. When they are done, excel can create a pareto that would show solutions that apply directly to the issue. I bet one of the high school students of one of the workers could set this up in an hour or two, and the final pareto could be published here, giving all of us customers confidence that our issue(s) has been addressed and will soon be solved.
The data already exists so there is no new work to do. Just totals.
Just my 2 cents.....

Yeah, disconcerting to put it mildly. Lol I had to check my shorts when it happened to mine. When I’ve had things like that happen in the past om other cars, there was usually transmission fluid on the ground.

I have a couple new tunes to try but haven’t had a chance to drive the car in days since I’ve had to haul a bunch of crap in my truck. Tomorrow I’ll finally get to go back to my car. I’ve had trans fluid lying around for days but I want to drive the car for a while before I top it off and then add the additional pint. I really hope one of the new ones works. From what I’ve read, others having similar shifting issues haven’t had much luck.

I'm guessing the the limiter actually saves the drivetrain in this circumstances so it can't shift into a killer 3rd.

Disconcerting as well that I just bought the damn tuner and now I see its faulty.

Yeah. I know how you feel. I’ve spent almost 700 bucks on the tuner and tstat and have spent more time stock than tuned due to various issues. I know there are a lot of people running their tunes with no issues on the SHO but it seems there are more than a few of us with bad shifting and fueling problems. Will update how the v15 tunes work on my car after driving it for awhile. As long as I don’t get a bunch of missed shifts, I’m gonna give it a week or so to adapt before making any judgments.

Trying to help, as I have the same issues with the LMS tune. On the string 'LMS vs Gearhead "Canned tunes" I noticed at least one of the members with no LMS issues has a high pressure fuel pump. Also, he has both the gearhead and LMS tunes. My car has 57,000 miles, and I"m thinking that a new pump might be my next purchase, as I will have soon have both tunes also.

If you can, take the positive cable off battery fort about 20 minutes then load new tune. This will erase the kam memory and let your tranny start fresh with learning shifts. Then drive easy for about 50 miles then do some WOT.
