Typically, a tune doesn't gain that much, which tells me that obviously Ford bottled up these cars from the factory. The same engine is rated at 420 rwtq in the F150, so there is power to be made. I am actually considering running my car bone stock at Atco, then downloading the various tunes after equal cool down periods and seeing the difference.
I don't expect the CAI to gain much, they almost never do unless you're making much more power. But it's cheap and will only take a few minutes to install.
S.

I have heard there lots of differences between our engine and the f150 ecoboost. I thought I read it on here so a search might yield some results.

This is now the most viewed and most replied to thread in the Generation 4 Performance Upgrade section :thankyou::salute:

-Rick

And it all started from a reference check!

Attention those of you who are running a Livernois tune on your SHO or EB Flex, would you mind sending me a PM? I'd like to seek some information from you as well as your "reference" for Livernois.

I have been following several threads lately, but I'd like to communicate with some of you directly. Thanks in advance! Ben

Remember.... sometimes "Engine Fluff" ( CAI's, Loud Mufflers, etc.) are the best kinds of Mods. Impressive to your friends, Look and sound great, and don't hurt your engine or your warranty!

And.... you'll think you're FASTER... even seem to have Seat of the Pants HP, and it's all "Fluff"!

This is what people dont understand. According to the law its up to the dealer to prove your mod broke the part. According to reality its up to you to prove your mod did not break the part.

It is simpler than that If you have enough money and can fund the legal staff needed to fight the FORD corperation, then you just might get them to honor the warrenty.

If you can afford legal "staff", you should be able to afford new parts that you broke. You are better off slipping the manager a few hundred and getting things taken care of.

Today in traffic I started to accelerate but the car in front was slowing down. I let off the gas, but decided to switch lanes since there was no traffic in that lane. I pressed on the gas hard and got over at the same time, but the car didn't respond for 1-2 seconds. Does this ever happen to you guys with tunes? This doesn't happen to me often, but it's really irritating when it does.

I forgot to mention I do not have a tune. Im curious to see if something like this ever happens with a tuned car, or if it will get cleared up.

Depends on the dealer too.... we have a customer with a caged 9-second Shelby that got the clutch warrantied. Also have a customer with a 10-second Vette on slicks with heads/cam and ProCharger that had a trans warrantied.

It feels Necessary...

After reading this whole thread i felt dirty for not saying anything, so..
Just wanted to thank all of you for the ridiculous amount of info on the thread alone. I was about 5 min. from ordering the tunes, when I reminded myself I won't have the car 'till August. FYI the wait is KILLING me. It's unhealthy.
In the end all of your posts have convinced me to forgo the Hennessy package and go with Livernois. I've email Hennessy 3 times just asking for info, and got useless PDF fliers in return. It's awesome :hail: Rick & Co. give almost instant feedback and answers. Thanks again for existing everybody!:woo-hoo:

P.S. never go to Iraq. It's no fun. and you can't drive fast cars. so lame.

Same thing has happened to me too. Four times to be exact. Twice with factory air box and twice with the Airaid kit. I punched it hard to get on the interstate and it "stuttered", bucked a little bit, took off and the Engine Light blinked for almost a mile and the car felt like it had a misfire then it went away and went back to normal.
I tried to run a vehicle report on the most 2 recent incidents and it wouldn't do it. I want to tune mine but am scared to do it now with the way its acting. I'm gonna go to my Ford dealer shortly and have it addressed and my Navi unit looked at. So you are not alone there Bill, that's for sure. BTW, Did your engine light flash on the dashboard too Bill??

What's going on with your navigation unit?

Mine was going out (more often when i had my heater turned on). They replaced some part (not the unit itself) and it still goes out every now and then.

I'm curious if you have the same issue.

It's odd and I'm not sure what causes it. We've never experienced it in our car, but I did experience it it a stock MKS.

No CEL. It just feels like the car has no idea I stepped on the throttle, then all of a sudden it kicks in. Sometimes I have to really press the gas down good to get the trans to drop 1-2 gears which is annoying too. Depending on the speed it might drop it down one too many like im going wot.

No Rick, I still think you should be thanked by us. You offer a proven product with great customer service at a very reasonable price. It doesn't get any better. Thanks again...the tunes were much more then I ever expected.
