Disable stability control with tune?

Rick,
would it be possible to disable the stability control as part of a tune. I have a non-pp sho with 4 blizzaks and I believe that my snow fun is being curtailed by the stability control.

I am curious what you guys think about permanently disabling the stability control?

So for a real world measurement of how bad @$$ the stage 4 tune is, I went from being 3/4 car length behind the civic mentioned in my previous post to 3 cars ahead and pulling hard. Thanks again Rick!! :woo-hoo:

So I take it, you like the tune? ;)

I LOVE the tune! I'm not sure how much more that I can add since it seems to have been covered by everyone else running the tune here...... For now I'm running the Stage 2 and am thoroughly impressed. The transmission has been transformed into what I wanted all along, the sound of the turbos spooling up combined with my AirRaid CAI makes me turn off my stereo just so I can listen to it (and trust me, I'm a big music freak with a 250gb hard drive full of music hooked up to the SYNC system!) and even the steering feels tighter and more connected (or is that just in my mind??) It's the cheapest new car that I've ever bought costing a mere $500
I want to play around a little bit more before installing the Stage 3 and I would love to try the Stage 4 in the spring at the track.
I'm so pleased with this tune and with Rick's level of service. Everytime I contacted him, his replies were quick and very helpful. Thank you Rick and Livernois for what you've done to my car! :thankyou::omgsho:

To my knowledge stability control cannot be permanently disabled.

Thank you,

Stage 2 and 3 are the same hp and torque wise. My dyno is on here somewhere. I know in some parts of the powerband I was up over 100hp. Stage 4 Im pretty sure has never been on a dyno. I picked up about .2 though with the Stage 4.

The stage 2 and 3 tunes make the same power on the dyno, the only difference is the stage 3 has no torque management. The stage 4 has never been on the dyno.

This is the graph from our non-performance package car with the stage 2 tune which ran 12.98 @ 105 mph.

Livernoissho 1 1

If I recall, Darrell's car made about 10 more HP/TQ with the stage 3 tune, CAI, and Corsa.

Rick,

What is the max boost that these tunes are producing according to your or Dan's calculations? How about max water temp during 1/4 mi?

I just set up my DashHawk to display this on one of my custom screens. Haven't tried it with your tunes yet, but a street test, with Torrie's boosted tune, I showed a maximum of 15.4 PSI. The Water temp increased from 181 Deg to 194 deg thru the first 2 gears with my 170 Deg. T-stat. Air temp was 81 deg at the time. I was running my stock 20"s and not my 2" smaller diameter 18"s.

As I recall from another DashHawk screen, the A/F ratio was 12.8 at full boost, but that's just from memory.

Bob,

IIRC, they make 12 lbs. stock and 13.5-14 lbs. with the stage 2 and stage 3 tunes and 14.5-15 lbs. with the stage 4.

Thank you,

Rick

They pick up that much on a dyno with a Stage 2 tune only??
That looks to be about 50 rwhp and 25 rwtq with huge gains under the curve, nice to know. Although I doubt it yields much hp, I ordered an Airaid CAI last night from Summit.

I don't know about actual numbers, but I can tell you from years of experience, the tune is the most noticeable single thing I've every done that yields a performance improvement for a "seat of the pants" improvement. Also, I like the CAI, but I've never seen one that really yields a performance improvement that you can feel. Almost all of them make the engine noisier but I've never had one improve performance that you could feel. However, almost all of the CAI's I've had did improve fuel economy and all look great.

Typically, a tune doesn't gain that much, which tells me that obviously Ford bottled up these cars from the factory. The same engine is rated at 420 rwtq in the F150, so there is power to be made. I am actually considering running my car bone stock at Atco, then downloading the various tunes after equal cool down periods and seeing the difference.
I don't expect the CAI to gain much, they almost never do unless you're making much more power. But it's cheap and will only take a few minutes to install.

I agree with mjhpadi, the tune on these cars is going to give more of a gain than any of the bolt-on's available for them now.

This is true with a lot of turbo cars. My DD Cobalt SS picked up quite a bit as well. It ran 13.9/14.0 stock and consistent 13.0's and a 12.99 with just a Livernois tune only. Look at the difference in torque on this one.. it looks impressive on paper, but feels just like that driving it too.
