Hey guys, question for you. Yesterday I strapped on my 93 tune from Livernois and it feels great. Today I went to do a launch and it launched very well but when it got ready to shift in to second gear it really hesitated to the point it was odd and shifted super hard. Also, when it shifted it made a weird like squeak noise. I know they said it might shift hard at first but this was scary hard. Any ideas?

Was the relearn complete before you tried the launch today? Could be the PCM is still in relearn mode after the flash. Could be the tires don't like the street temps very much. Or could be the trans shift pressures need to be dialed down a tad.

How many mile since flashing the tune? It acts weird initially. I flashed after my downpipes and my awd would fail at anything over half throttle and torque steer/front wheel burnout **** would occur. Thought my rdu was going out. Decided to let it relearn for a few days and after a few ignition/drive cycles i was back to boost launches. No issues since. May take up to 200miles to relearn.

How do I know when the relearn is complete?

Or what do you think for mileage?

You wont! Lol. Usually you'll notice things began to work more harmoniously. Shifts quicken and smooth out, etc, usually takes 100 to 200miles, several key/drive cycles. Make sure you have a decent portion of city driving in there so that it can fine tune its shift strategy, boost map, timing advance, learned octane rating of the fuel in tank, etc. Give it a lil time

You made sure traction control was off? Get some more mileage on it and try again. Mine launches and shifts perfectly.
You know what? I didn't have it off. I don't have a PP is that TC in the settings good enough? Is there anyway to get it all shut off on a NON-PP?

What version tune are you running. If V9, then ask for V10. My '13 didnt like V9, there was a qwerk in FORD'S calibration code. V10 fixes it.

The only time I've had an issue when TC was off was when trying to drift in the snow and stability control kicks in. So unless you're trying to get sideways, TC off should be good enough for a hard launch.

Non-pp here... with TC off I have still had the stability control kick on OCCASIONALLY during a break boosting launch.. usually when the front end comes up enough to trip the stability sensors....

I have had my stability control light flicker on a launch as well, but never felt it intervene. That's not to say it didn't happened to the OP however, it just means he needs to go out and try again :)

His issue seems to be the 1-2 shift. I seriously doubt the TC has anything to do with that. It does not appear that the adaptive learning has fully taken place.

I called Livernois and they said it most likely is the TC. I have yet to try it again because I wanted to give it a few more good drives to learn and also it has been rainy/snowy the last few days and I want to make sure I am safe.

Your first post indicated that you flashed the car "yesterday" and you had the bad shift experience "today." Unless you drove a couple hundred miles with some stop and go mixed in, your adaptive learning is not complete. Unless your car is breaking traction, your TC is not engaging. If the road was slippery, it might break traction enough on the 1-2 shift to cause an issue but it would be more likely to occur on a hard launch - in which case, you would feel the engine basically bog down.

I told Livernois exactly when I did my tune and how many miles I drove. I took their expert opinion in saying it was the TC. I appreciate your response though and input!

So I did the TC off and gave it some more miles to learn. When I do a launch and it goes to shift in to second it hesitates and makes a few clicking noises and then shift. It only does this in launch and not when I'm at like a starting speed. It never did this before the tune. Any other ideas?
