Pump hopefully shipping soon . Is there any mod required for the engine cover . In reading stealblusho's instal it sounds like it super hot under there.

Would it have been too hot otherwise?
Better safe than sorry for sure. I believe the foam was for sound deadening purposes.The Livernois pump sits up higher than the stock one. There is a foam surround covering the stock HPFP, so there was never any contact between the HPFP and the insulation under the engine cover. I have no idea if the Firestorm pump would melt/burn the insulation on the engine cover but being as ford didn’t intend them to touch for whatever reason, I decided to cut it back. Didn’t want to chance catching fire going down the road... I have no clue how heat resistant the insulation is. Better safe than sorry... but it has not warped or melted the engine cover the way I have it sooooo who knows.

It seems more cosmetic than anything . I suppose it keeps some dust off it but i would think for cooling it would be better left off as compared to holding in heat .
