Lifter problem

the guy who welded my cams said my lifter or lifter not sure? needs to be shimmed its a clattering noise on the front of my engine. what could happen

You could chuck a shim.

These engines don't have lifters though FYI.

You need a good GenIII SHO mechanic... or a good set of tools, manuals and lack of fear and tackle it yourself. I think the former.
