I know the PP has better / stiffer "sport" type shocks - don't know if that will have any impact on the lowering in combination with the springs...??

I had to buy the camber kit for my H&R. If you need it, the part number is 81280 from SPC (Specialty Products Company).

I havent gotten around to it yet, been super busy with the holidays.

I will say the 5 or so inches i have taken off so far, has stiffened the suspension in a way that i feel it handles better.

I lowered my 2014 SHO using the H&R Springs. I love the stance, but the ride is jiggly/bouncy. Does anyone have a recommendation for shocks that are designed to work with the lowered suspension? Can anyone give me a part number or reference here? My suspension shop has had zero luck sourcing shocks for this application. They tried Bilstein, Tokico, Koni... seems like there's nothing obviously available. Maybe a shock from a Mustang may fit?? Help!

Sorry if I missed this, but does your SHO have the PP option? I think one of the components of the PP option is better shocks! I have the HR springs and the PP option on my SHO and the ride is 95% the same. Just very minor notice on bigger dips in the road. Just buy the shocks that come on the SHO with PP.

Hi, yes I do have the PP. My car has 20K miles on it, I don't imagine the shocks are worn out yet. Could be I'm being hyper sensitive, and for sure it is the most busy on bigger bumps, but it also feels jiggly on minor road imperfections. I am considering coil-overs as a possible solution, but would rather not spend the money if I don't have to. I have seen some posts about this same problem (different cars however) and they were using Bilstein or Tokico shocks that were designed to work in a lowered application. Hoping I can hear from a SHO owner that may have found a solution.

Bringing up a dead thread. I have a 13 PP and I cut my rear springs. I had to do it twice. I ended up cutting 13 inches off the PP Springs.

The PP springs are literally made with some of the hardest material I have ever cut. I would recommend you use a vise and a cut off wheel.

I think it looks great. Read end it still in factory alignment specs. The ride is better IMO. When I get wheels I will put a 255/45/20 Continental on it, so it should suck up the wheel gap even more.

I have a 15 PP. My car sits perfectly level now. I cut 1/2 a coil off the top of the rear springs. Worked perfect. Alignment was borderline. Ended up installing some Camber bolts. DO NOT buy the 81280 or whatever # it is. There is another # meant for the rear of our cars. Fits there like stock. Plenty long with zero issues. The others are too short and I wouldn't trust that nor should any mechanic. That is my experience. Hope it helps anybody. Oh yeah. Car rides and handles the exact same. I can even load her up and doesn't sag any more or any less than before.

I would be interested in what bolts you bought & when. When I installed the H&R (about 3 years ago) I searched everywhere and there were zero options except the 81280 - and trust me they work just fine - as I said 3 years ago and no issues.

Did you notice the nut on the 81280 only bites like on 3 or 4 threads? Dude, that is crazy. My mechanic and I, after seeing this, did not want to take a chance. The 84130s are the same length as the stock bolts, also, the cam is much longer too. Just my 2 cents.

I hear you but there is a shoulder on the nut and use Locktite Red and you're fine. My mechanic was also cautious but we checked after a week, then after a month and now 3 years later no issues. BUT.... it's always in the back of my mind so I'm glad this bolt is available now, I'm going to buy them and install - so thanks for letting us know about this new bolt.

Just installed the 81430 this morning! The ones we replaced (81280) were still locked in place and hadn't changed since they installed them 3 years ago. BUT.... I feel much better now knowing that these are the correct ones and that ALL the threads are being used to secure the bolt. Thanks for all the info!!!

“A safe place to start is by measuring how much you want to lower the vehicle. Then cut 1/2 that measurement off the length of the springs and reinstall them. Then take her for a drive, and drive it like you stole it to get the springs well worked and seated properly.”

How does that measurement translate into how much to cut off? If you want to drop the rear an inch or so, does that mean cut half a coil? No way that would mean cut off half an inch.

Is your car a PP?
