LSSHOC should be present for this event as well. Anyone interested??????

To All:

Our first meeting to coordinate a coalition between San Antonio based car
clubs was held on Wednesday, April 2nd and should be considered a moderate
success. There were nine clubs in attendance, including: AAFO (Alamo Area
Fiero Organization), Corvair Club, Gear Grinders, H20 Motorsport, San
Antonio Rodders, T-Bird Club, Texas Corvette Association, Wicked Stangs and
Z Sport. Since Wednesday, several other clubs have sent in emails and/or
called to indicate their intentions of being in attendance for the next
meeting. For those clubs who were unable to make it to the first meeting,
the attached word document is a brief outline of the topics that were
discussed to help explain why an organization like this would be useful to
the all local area car clubs.

It was agreed to, by all in attendance, that we would hold the next meeting
again at Chester's on Loop 410, on Wednesday, May 7th, at 6:30pm. It was
also agreed that at the May 7th meeting we would discuss when and where to
hold future monthly meetings and to begin laying the foundation for this
alliance between the car clubs. The initial focus will be to provide
assistance between the clubs in order to coordinate club events, increase
overall notification and to generate more interaction between clubs. If you
personally, are not interested in attending this meeting please inform the
other members of your club and/or allow them to attend in your place.
Membership is not a requirement for attendance, as it is hoped that such an
open forum will show how this type of an organization can prove to help all.
So please pass the word on.

To help promote this partnership between the clubs we will be hosting an
inaugural running for a monthly event to be called the 'Night Shift Run', to
be held on April 30th, the last Wednesday of the month. You will be sent a
'Night Shift Run' flyer along with additional information as further details
and arrangements are made in subsequent emails to soon follow. However,
please note that this will be an event that is open to all area car clubs
and will celebrate our military along with the liberation of the Iraqi
people. What follows is a general description of the planned events:

The premise behind the idea is a night time cruise through the city, ending
at a predetermined location selected in advance by its historical
significance and/or its importance to the city, such as the Alamo (or
another Mission), Tower of the America's, Sunken Gardens, etc. On this
particular run, we will meet at the Sonic on Walzem and I35 (with overflow
parking provided by neighboring NTB) before cruising through the 5 major SA
highways in route to the Tower of the America's. As stated, this inaugural
running will be a patriotic theme and we are asking everyone to decorate
their vehicles accordingly if they so choose. As well, we intend to
culminate the run with the release of over 200 balloons at the tower.
Additional preparations are still in development and as these details become
available we will endeavor to keep everyone informed.

One other notable point is that there will be several video cameras present
filming the event to be memorialized in an upcoming show to be aired on Time
Warner's community access station. This shows format will be centered on
passing along information of upcoming car club events and to showcase some
of those same events in following episodes. We are also asking you and
members of your club to bring their own video cameras along to help film the
event.

We thank you for taking the time to read this and for you patience as we
continue this organizational effort.

And some more info:

Hello Everyone,

The attached document is and electronic flyer promoting an event called the
'Night Shift Run'. It is hoped that this event could become a monthly
activity for SA area car clubs and more information on that will be forth
coming. On the occasion of this inaugural running, we are decidedly making
the cruise a patriotically themed event and asking all participants to dress
in red, white and blue and, if desired, to likewise decorate their cars. The
flyer outlines the course and the basic schedule for the cruise that we will
follow. Please understand that further arrangements are still being made and
that as the event draws closer any additional information that becomes
available will be passed along to you soon as possible.

This email is being sent to you as a means of cordially inviting you and
your club to join-in on the cruise. If you can possibly RSVP it would be
much appreciated, however it is not necessary. Originally, this event was
slated to be open to only SA based car clubs but as the word reached car
clubs outside of SA, it was decided to expand the invitation to any and all
car club members wishing to participate. Please extend this invitation to
any sister clubs your group might have throughout the state and/or any other
clubs you might know that are not presently on this list.

I do realize the event is scheduled on a weeknight rather than a weekend
night and this may prove to be a problem for some. However, because the
cruise will be primarily comprised of 'show cars' it was decided to select a
date and time that would allow for the smoothest run and the least amount of
traffic with the available daylight for filming purposes. Also, because our
departure time is quite early the cruise will be split into two groups
departing at separate time to allow additional time for anyone unable to
make the initial departure. This second group will take a shorter route, but
will meet up with the first group at a point along the original route.

Please extend this invitation to all the members in you club and if you or
your members have any questions please call me and I'll try my best to
provide an answer.

Finally something during the week when I'm off and it's in SAT. I'd consider going if anyone else is up for it. I haven't been back to Dirty Nelly's(riverwalk) in about 2 years.
