Alright i did a oil change 1k ago..and i noticed my light came on "check oil" so i did and i was way down i put another quart in and it came to where the full line is at the bottom of it..so i was wondering where r the places it could leak out- bad seal around the pan ne other places i might need ot know- i knwo i havent looked under the car to see where it might be coming from- but everytime i drive away i dont see ne on the floor or in my driveway...also i have a bad trans i think thats leaking fluid- is there a chance of leaking oil into the tranny somewhere....i heard that from someone is that possible...and my plug wells r good- very little oil in them...and when i start my car no bad smoke of oil out of the tailpipes...so im wondering where could it be going...ne ideas would be appreciated thanx...

No oil will pass between the crankcase and the ATX. Oil leakage locations are the front main seal, rear main seal, valve cover seals, camshaft seals, oil pan seals (two rubber seals and RTV), oil level sensor and oil pressure sender. You still have to visually see the leak before you can fix it.

yo man. check the front main seal. if you get down by the passenger side front wheel, lift up the guard flap there, and look behind the crank. that is where the front main seal is. do you notice that there is smoke from your engine when running it? if you do then that's the front main seal because oil leaks out onto the cat right below it and causes smoke. my seal was broken and i lost a quart every 1000 miles. check it out.

thanx man i will indeed check it out- but i know i dont smoke when its running- but u know what i do smell something when im done driving- an dit is on the pass sided and it smells like burned tranny or possibly oil burnt- humm so if it is a front main seal how terrible is that to change...i probably dont want to know...

I'm guessing from your sig that you have an MTX. If thats the case and you do have oil leaking from where the tranny and the engine bolt together, then it could be your rear main seal that is leaking.

Alright- i went ot get ym clutch fluid flushed and refilled- and the mechanic said i have a rear main seal leak- so going on that..i can be leaking both tranny fluid and oil out of there- is that right...and how hard is this job- should i attempt it or just take it in- or wait for a clutch job and than do it all together...what do u all think

i say.....if it's only leaking a quart every 1000 miles, then wait for the new clutch because the rear main seal is a bitch to get to. Unless you have a brand new clutch, then i guess u might want to do it because you'll roughtly have to put say 80 more quarts of extra oil in before the next clutch and that my friend would suck ass. lol
