Thought I'd let everyone know that I finally got a handle on the 3.5L motor and won the event at Lands End. This motor has sooo much more tq that just the gearing change alone was not enough. You cannot power through the corners so much as before as entry speed is higher. Also found that the car can pull second gear off the switchbacks...probably better than the wheel spin of first. Bagged first in class about .7sec off my record and second fastest overall to a V8 by about .4sec

Five miles to the top from here:

Along the way there are a few turns also:

No dyno tuning. Pretty much all butt-dyno. I don't think we're leaving a lot of power not found thus far with some wide band runs and such. No doubt there's probably a few hp but not enough to justify the cost of a true dyno test. (not interested in chassis dyno)

Brakes for the 2010 car?? As soon as someone want to pursue it I suppose it could be looked into. At this time I have no plans to produce anything without a buyer however...

Don't we all. I need to get another autographed pic from you Todd, this one on the wall is so faded. Maybe I could drop by sometime next week?

Tom

I think I have some 8x10 stuff from 07 at home still. But having not run the past two years they are ancient history now! lol

For a minute there I thought you were talking about the 3.5L Duratec. Speaking of the Duratec, I've got an Escape with the 3.0L, 6 speed auto, and AWD and this thing hauls ass. They're getting 240 hp out of the 3.0L now.

I think it would smoke most ATX SHOs and even some tired MTXs. It would be wicked in a Contour or Cougar.

engine sounds badass.... what kinda rpm's are you running it up to?

The 3.0 redlined at 8200 and did fine up there, 8000 shift light.
The 3.2 redlined at 8200 but was done closer to 8000, shift light to 7800.
The 3.5 redlines at 8000 but is done for tq about 7600, shift light at 7600.

Due to the tq change the car can carry (better) the switchback turns in 2nd gear as first just spins the tires too much and too fast so you waste time grabbing second anyhow.
