Yep, just put my order through at Rockauto and the parts should be here either Wednesday or Thursday. (I only ordered the w/p, w/p gasket, crank seal, and timing belt from Rockauto.) I'm going to Autozone and Napa tomorrow to pick up the last few parts; crank position sensor (mine still works, but might as well replace it now), a new radiator, and some accessory belts.

I'm excited to do my front 60k, how about you?

I was just curious as to how difficult or time consuming you people who have done from 60k's found it.

Last time I did one, it took me about 8 hours. That was everything in the front 60k, and cleaning stuff up nice, etc.

You sure you don't want to do the cam seals while you're in there?

You checked out SHOPP, huh?

Yeah, got all the parts info from SHOPP. I'll probably be looking at the online guide every now and then too, but honestly the front 60k is pretty straight-forward. I don't really think that the cam seals are going to need to be replaced. The car only has 75k and has always had basic maintainence kept up well on it. (Old people owned it, they were really bad about over maintainencing the car... I have like a hundred reciepts from Grease Monkey.) Plus, the cam seals add like an extra few hours of work. I'll be doing another one of these at like 125k anyway, so I'll be sure to do it then if I even still own the car.

8 hours!!!!!!!!!

I guess you aren't as **** as I am when it comes to being clean... It took me three days just to clean the damn thing! But it only took me a few hours to do the rest. I scrubbed and scrubbed with that damn toothbrush and rag for days! I actually used a few toothbrushes because they started to melt in the cleaner(gumout is great stuff, I tell you! :D ). The inside of my intake/head(I did not use the cleaner on the inside of the head ;) only in the intake/exhaust ports and inside the intake.) is damn near spotless though! :thumb:

The last front 60k I did, I was in a bit of a hurry. 3 hours, and I cleaned everything too.

When you did the upper you were using my tools. I seemed to have misplaced them now... Need to find them too.

You'll already have everything off, go ahead and do the cam seals. I didn't do my cam seals when I did my 120k, and I should have. It'll only add around 45 minutes extra, and it's good insurance.

I'm confused... 3 hours... 8 hours... I'm pretty damn good with a wrench and I'm going to school for it as well. I'm just now understanding how like 40 bolts and some basic mechanical parts can equate to 8 hours of work. I mean, maybe if I stopped for a few hours every now and then to go make dinner or play X-Box or something.

There is all kinds of levels of mechanical skills on the forum so you never know. With only 75k miles on your car it should be a breeze compared to a 120K or 150K service...........It's not a race to complete the job its more a quality thing to me.

I quote the job at 5 labor hours ........ It all depends on "other stuff" that needs to be serviced while your there. For example the crank may have surface rust on the snout, the rear cam seal may need replacing the battery tray needs refreshing the idler pulleys may have surface rust and so on. You get the point...........I treat each one like its my own car and make sure to put every factory bolt back in its place. You would be suprised how many SHO's that have been serviced at shops are driving around with missing bolts or have them installed at the wrong locations.

Don't rush the job
Good luck and have fun
