Hi, my 92 MTX doesn't feel like it's running right. The car was just in a minor accident and was sitting for 3 months due to broken linkage. I fixed the linkage and now the car seems to run like ****. Very sluggish and a huge lack of power. My lead master tech said that water may have got into the fuel system and told me to get some "dry gas." There is no CEL, no codes, oil pressure is good, runs and drives but nothing like it use to. I am thinking that the accident knocked something loose in the motor? The SHO has around 230k miles but the last time I had it on the dyno, about 4 months ago, it put out 203whp which means it's healthy right? I keep up on maintenance and oil changes very well. Any ideas on what i should try first? Really appreciate the help.

The shock from even a minor accident can damage electrical devices like the tps, mafs, coils, etc. The symptoms you describe are exactly what happens with a crappy tps (which may or may not throw a code for tps out of range), so measure that if you have a multimeter, else just buy one and change it. Also, get some mafs cleaner and clean that up while you are working on it.

If it isn't low enough to allow you to put in half a tank of new gas, drive it till you can and then put some injector cleaner in it when you fill it. Sitting for 3 months can cause the gas to gum up injectors, so it could be that as well. However, it should throw a lean code or 2 if the injectors aren't firing like they should.

It isn't doing anything that would indicate that there is an actual problem, it just runs like dog ****. The car idles fine and is drivable but i feel i might hurt something if I keep driving. I know it sounds weird but it just isn't running right.

Also FastAndFurious, I filled the tank right before the wreck so it would take a lot of driving to get it all out. I guess I might be better off syphoning it out, yes I will give that a goes tomorrow. Thanks

I do have a spare coil and tps that i will throw in tomorrow. I always forget the basics and keep thinking that it is something huge. Hopefully it's just that and I will run some BG products through the rails and pour their additive in the tank since it's free at my shop. Makes sense everything you say and I hope you are right. Thanks

Oh thanks for all of the help, it was a combination of things that made the car run rough. Getting the old fuel out helped and so did the putting some BG injector cleaner through the rails. Ran much better after that but still felt sluggish, swapped TPS and there was very little to no change and I replaced my motorcraft plugs wit some new Denso ones i had laying around and that helped a lot also but still wasn't there yet. So I put in my old coil pack and now the car runs okay. My Screamin Demon one turns out to be bad.
