Just did my first mod to my SHO. Took long enough to get around to it.

Did an Unleashed (great service by the by) 91 tune with 170deg thermostat and 3 bar. (I know, should have gone 93 but very few suggestions around here carry it.)

I'm installing the H&R's this week.

So what should I plan next?

- 3rd Cat to x or h pipe?

- meth?

- cat back?

- down pipes?

Thoughts?

I installed a stainless steel works cat back about 2 weeks ago and I enjoy it very much on my 50 minute drive to work each day. Has a wonderful tone through about 2500 rpm. Throttle response is better and it's a lot easier to sound off the BOV now. The world is your oyster after the tune.

Meth will get you the most power. Downpipes are next inline power wise after meth.

Have you datalogged the tune to make it as good as it can be? Obviously if you plan additional mods, you will want to do that but how about before doing anything else?

I was thinking Meth and rather than running it with the external tank running it through my windshield washer reservoir. Free discreet level sensor and one less thing to worry about filling. ;)

Just make sure you don't run 50% or more of a meth mixture if you plan on using it for the windshield washer as well... and honestly, I am not sure how damaging something like boost juice is to the paint, trims, rubber, etc...

I haven't yet. Was going to hold off till after springs are in, the coolant flush this weekend and maybe next mod. So far I like what Torrie has done.

Did you notice that big of a change?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND datalogging with an SCT based tune. Torrie usually sends out a mild tune since he doesn't know how your car is performing. Datalogging will allow him to really turn it up if your car can support additional power. You will HAVE to if you plan on running meth.

My understanding (from when I modified cars back in the day) you can run windshield washer fluid in these systems as they are meth based (blue is usually 30-60% meth depending on brand) as long as you confirm no glycol content (usually red, greens, oranges etc.)

I'll pop him an email after the flush as to what settings he would like for the log and see what happens.

Thanks!

Just ask him for the config file. He will email it to you, it will have all the pics in it that he wants to see.

I went meth on my car after tune. Again, it's the biggest bang for the buck modification plus it will make additional mods provide even more power (since they will be bottle necking the meth potential). I went meth because it was the most power for the money and due to the valve cleaning it provides. Next on my list is downpipes at some point.

How long does a gallon of meth generally last?

Depends on your meth settings and how often you are in it...

For me it was about every other fill up...

I should have worded that differently. Definitely on a government list now. I live 5 minutes from the Kentucky line so there's an 80% chance I'm less than 50 yards from a gallon of the stuff.

Like StealBlue stated, it depends on how much you're into the throttle. For me it's been anywhere from less than a week to a month or so. My driving is very inconsistent and a tank of gas ranges from highway cruising to ******* it all the time. Luckily the local speed shop here sells it for about $2.50/gallon.

I’ve been running boost juice thru the washer fluid for about a year and a half paint and rubber are fine and it does a so so job with the windshield
