I own a 2013 SHO and recently decided i wanted to tune it to get more power out of it. I have a 3 bar map sensor to go along with that to help me run more boost. The problem i am running into is whenever i load the tune and start to drive normally, the rpms start bucking/jumping under any load. Now mind you I’ve had my tuner send 5-6 different tunes from revisions and it happens with every one. Does anyone have any ideas or know the answer to my problem? Thanks in advance.

Might help if you posted a datalog file.

Have you tried switching back to stock just to verify it still runs normally stock?

I’m still new to all this so i don’t know how i would go about posting a datalog file and yes when i return to stock it runs perfectly. Which is why I’m so confused

Did you send a datalog to your tuner? I would think that would be the first thing they would ask for if you told them you were having that issue, rather than just sending you more tunes....that would be odd IMO.

I did, but to add on, my buddy who was good friends with the tuner basically did all that for me to speed up the process. It was all basically done within 10-15 minutes while we were testing the tunes driving the car

Is it a local guy tuning your car?

If so, I would put it back to stock immediately. Get a tune from one of the trusted tuners for these cars and datalog it. You are better off not letting someone learn how to tune a specific model on your own car.

It’s not a local guy, I’ve come to learn that not many people are huge fans of this said guy. It’s Shawn from SSI Tuning and even with datalogs sent to him he still says he doesn’t know what the problem is and can’t figure it out

Sorry to hear that. I would bet if you tried Gearhead, AJPTurbo, Ortiz, BCB or even Unleashed your problem would go away.

I would go back to stock immediately if you have not already.

I’ve actually been looking into BCB but I’m nervous that if i purchase a tune and load it, it might happen again so I’ve emailed them and tried to get their knowledge on it and the response time is very long. Any opinions on which you think is the best bang for the buck?

Right now pretty much, Gearhead and AJP are at the top of the game tuning SHOs if you pick the SCT device. Pretty incredible what they have been able to achieve. BCB is also pretty good. I advise you to switch ASAP.

Definitely post a datalog, or share it via dropbox if the file is too big for uploads to this forum. I see you have a 2013+ SHO, please provide us as much details regarding it as possible.

I used gearhead and would recommend them. If you are a bit more patient, AJPTurbo is also extremely good but as he does this as a side gig, it would take a bit longer to get tuned by him. BCB is one of the few I have not tried but have not heard anything but good things about them.

I wouldn't worry about tuning it if I were you, issues with your current tuner are pretty common and I have seen similar stories to yours dozens and dozens of times. I'm surprised he hasn't accused you of it being your fault and ghosted you yet. There's a reason that business has an F rating with the BBB.

Pick one of the reputable tuners and it is extremely likely that your car will be absolutely fine tuned by any of them.

LOL SM105K! Yes, run as fast as you can from SSI !!! I used LMS for about 4+ years until the tune started to have catastrophic failures, switched to Gearhead and I still have a goofy smile on my face every time I drive! I wonder if you actually have the correct 3-bar sensor? The car will behave this way with the wrong 2-bar or 3-bar installed.

If it was the wrong 3 bar would it still run perfectly fine during a 2-3 second WOT pull?

Especially not during a WOT pull! You wouldn't even be able to go WOT, just touching the throttle it'll hesitate and all issues.
