Were you datalogging when it went down?
Actually I was! No random knock, just making good boost and oops. Fuel trims look good and all. Brad said data looked normal but engine obviously didn't like the torque

Well you exceeded the cylinder pressure limit...but it would be interesting to know why just the one cylinder.

Also I datalog almost always just in case something happens or seems different. Usually save around a month worth before zipping and archiving. Mainly because I've been doing my own tuning and its a learning curve and without a dyno its difficult to measure the changes.

Yep, exceeded something! I'm not too stressed on figuring out exactly what happened because either way it all has to be done no matter what it was.

In the world of OEM repairs I've only seen rods bend like that from being hydro locked. Great that it just bent and didn't break and exit the block. No scratches on the effected cylinder wall is also almost unheard of. For a first time and doing it at home that's exceptional.

Were you running it hard within a few days of the failure? Reason I ask is on a rare occasion I've seen a bent rod with the only symptoms being that it was running rough/unstable or misfire on the effected cylinder due to lower compression from the bent rod. It might take a bit before it finally effects the bearing. Did the rod bearing spin?

Rod bearing did not spin! The car has been putting down insane torque (for stock internals of course) for the last couple months. Car had been running perfect until it just was not happy. Purring then clunking just happened in that moment.

Has anyone used the term "that ship has sailed" yet?
Lol you are the first

Machine shop passed onto me how close I was to catastrophic failure I was. Piston was about to let go from smashing into the crank. Said block is in decent shape from their visible inspection. Said small hone most likely
