So as I posted yesterday it sounds like a rod bearing has spun or rod is bent. I am super optimistic of this opportunity as I knew this was going to eventually happen. I was absolutely sad to begin with but a couple hours past and I got to scheming. For now I believe what the plan is to buy another stock motor swap it in for the time being, enjoy the car at a lower power level and get to working on the bad motor.

I am thinking rods, pistons, maybe crank, closed deck from CSS and a ton of porting. Looking forward to what it brings and the growth from it! I am really liking the opportunity that I have been forced to have here and making the best of it. So for now I figured I would make this post.

So first off car is going to go back to full interior so I can make some space in the garage and then tear down shall commence!

I also want to thank everybody and the out pour of support I received on here, facebook and youtube. It's been absolutely insane and inspiring and I actually am more excited today than I was before the motor decided she didn't want to handle the power! So THANK YOU!

You can follow the build on my youtube channel:

Continued successes moving forward there Jordan, and condolences on the setback.

You've motivated me and I'm sure quite a few others.

Please don't consider going the "cheap" route when undertaking the re-build. I know that's been your mantra. But go fast parts as you're considering, have their respective price points.

That said, the race is on for the 10's my friend.

Also, poking a little fun at your color scheme, I had to pass this along (see/refer to the attached pic) which was sent to me. Enjoy! Ha!View attachment 78178

Gotta be able to laugh at one's self. That's for sure.

Keeps you humble being able to see the humor.

I remember a few years back when people were posting pics of the Joker alongside a pic of my front end setup. Funny as $h!t.

Then of course recently, a pic of a BORG drone from Star Trek along side my modded intake with the multi-port, direct injected merh set up. Again, also funny.

I look forward to your rebuild. Good luck!

Good stuff Jordan. I am interested to see what gave up. You think it kinked a rod? Hopefully you caught it before big damage occurred. That being said, it is going to be interesting to see what comes of this.

With only educated guesses I'm thinking it bent the rod. Was making boost and ope she wasn't the same. It was instant

Now that I think about it. Might just rebuild the motor outside the car and not buy another motor. Doesn't seem right to do it twice to me

I expect to see this (link below)ASAP!

Ha! I'm probably not going to do too extensive of modifications. I'd love to go full dick but the budget isn't exactly there. I'm looking at maybe 3-4k going towards this all said and done. Which should be plenty to max the gh turbos! Not willing to get divorced over a motor considering me and the wife haven't even gone on a honey moon yet

The knock definitely sounded like a rod. (That’s what she said) Could have just smoked a bearing.

Man, sorry to hear this but every cloud has a silver lining, so it does indeed look like an opportunity for you to go big! Lol....

Anyway, I'm sure you've got your plan mapped out, but feel free to check out Ryan at RMB Motorworks. He's worked with Matt at GH and Full Race as well, and he knows his ecoboosts. At the very least, might be able to glean some good info from him on some good steps to take...

I'm lookin forward to seeing where you take the new project.

Erm...
....Isn't RMB the guy that has tons of people claiming stolen property and endless excuses? I googled Ecoboost f150 parts a while back and I hit a few sites with that particular guy and class action lawsuits....I think. I'll try to find the links for proper reconnaissance.

I've recently seen some reviews about RMB. I'm okay on that. Just spoke with an engine builder that a good friend has used with his SHO and while it's going to be pricey he knows what these things need to run high hp. I can't think of a sho that has ran more power than Ryan Spencer and I'm going off his recommendation on this guy. Was on the phone with him for the better part of thirty minutes and he's got me hooked.

Yes, I remember when I was doing my research, I saw alot of this as well. I did a bit more digging, spoke with him directly for a long time regarding those concerns specifically and even spoke independently with some of the customers that have his setups. Most of them are pleased, but definitely some not so much. I personally feel pretty confident, after doing my own research, that he's legit. There's still some big vendors that deal with him, despite some of what's out there, so I take it all with a grain of salt.

Anyway, he's definitely not the only game in town and I'm sure whoever ends up doin the build will be great!

Looking forward to it!
