Ok not THAT hot but for some reason the car wants to overheat now. Its fine when I'm on the open road but when it comes down to city driven it creeps up till the fan comes on. It just happened after some codes showed up. I ended up replaceing the oxygen sensors and there was also a code for the inertia switch but after I replaced the O2 sensors and reset the computer the inertia switch code was gone. Whats with that? I have recently replaced the thermostat, temp gauge sender, coolant sender, and the coolant was flushed about 3000 miles ago. Could it possibly be a collapsing hose? Thanks for the help.

Is it actually getting hot enough to get in the red? Or is it going up to the "O". If its in the normal range its normal. Does the fan come on then shut off? Also the factory senders are not very accurate. You may want to try changing that there cheap.

If the fan is coming on and the gauge is not in the red, this is NORMAL. That's why the gauge reads NORMAL in this area.

The temp doesn't get into the red. The fan kicks on before it does. Ever since I changed the thermostat its always sat in the middle.

It sounds like you put a 190F degree thermostat in your system. Hoses under 16 pounds of pressure do not collapse. Hey, have you changed your radiator cap yet?
