When the MAF went out in my car, I did the same thing and replaced it with an Autozone part and the code still came up. I had to get an actual Ford part from the dealer to get a working unit merely because the calibration of the Autozone unit wasn't correct for the car. The MAFs are calibrated to the size of the injectors and the air flow of the sensor housing itself. They can't be mixed and matched like aftermarket suppliers do. And that's why I said to be sure to get the correct sensor for your application because even though the housings are the same, the calibrations aren't.

Take the Autozone sensor back and get a refund. If the car idles or runs better with it disconnected, the MAF is malfunctioning and you need to replace it with the correct one.

It turnout to be a bad gas. I had about 2-3 gallons left all along. The car also sat for about 2 months. Bought 5 gallons and she runs like ***** ape.

Modern gas sucks. Leave it sitting for 2 months and you can't light it with a match.

Take you MAF back and get a refund.

Keep your SHO on the road, that's what it was meant to do :) Glad you got the issue sorted out.

Truth. Its the alcohol in the gas which will draw water (which isnt good) and then the water starts break down the stuff in gas and really ruins the octane rating.

If you can get no alcohol gas it stores for MUCH longer periods of time and it saves your lawn mowers from having to clean out the carbs every spring.

Everything seems to run as it should except one issue. If I crank her up and throw in to Drive or Reverse without waiting couple of seconds for idle to settle it will stall... and not always but most of the time.

Any idea what would cause this?

I also wanna add that when you start the car, cold or hot it will idle around 2,000rpm for 1-2 seconds and it will settle to normal rpm.

IAC = first suspect. Possible to clean it out and have it operate correctly, but may require replacement.
