Is my trans mount bad?

It seems that when I go to shift that unless I feather the crap out of the clutch and gas I get a clunking noise that seems to indicate a bad transmission mount. I had the motor mounts replaced earlier at the end of August, and I bought a stock ford trans mount for the garage to put in as well. I don't understand why this noise would be happening; maybe the place screwed with me and didn't really put the new trans mount in, or do I just not know how to drive a standard transmission car? It also happens if I let off the clutch quickly while not giving any gas (like in first gear for example). Please help me as it is really getting me frustrated.

It's hard to say sometimes. When new mounts go bad it really screws up the concept of troubleshooting. I know how you feel. Ford dealership found a stripped out bolt in my 5 month old SHO Shop front mount. The mount didn't come with new bolts so I guess Pep Boys used the old ones when they put it in. The point is with engine mounts, troubleshooting goes out the window

. But it doesn't hurt to try. You could take it to the dealership and for a fee they will look at them and determine if they are bad, stock, aftermarket, or not. They have technicians who's specialty is engine mounts and they can tell you if something is loose etc. If you "duplicate" the problem in a road test, it should only take a little more than an hour of labor for them to figure it out.
