Have any of you guys herd of Iridium Spark Plugs, I guess they add around 10 horse power to SHO's, this is just what my brother told me (and he drive a DSM a 1991 Eagle Talon TSI, which by the way my 1994 MTX SHO eats alive). I guess these plugs are also like $20 a plug.
tell me what you think!!!!!!!! shrug

Sounds like bs boink

But 10 horse power, oh_my
He probably just wants to slow down your ride to make up for his Talon, which can be a fun car.

I bought a set of ebay for an even $60 including shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemWithCategory&item=1792679421

They even make OEM Motorcraft plugs from the Ford dealer look inexpensive..lol! :D Anyways, I didn't buy them expecting HP gains but because I'm going to be running nitrous. So the Motorcraft double platinums had to go. I havn't installed them yet so I can't comment on performance but they look very top notch quality.

I just couldn't bear the thought of running $1 copper plugs in an engine that will be making over 100hp/l so I thought I'd give these a try. I'll run them on the street and with the N20 for a while, remove a couple of them and see what they look like and report back here in a few months.

The ebay seller I bought them from was very helpful. They asked lots of questions to make sure I got the right plugs and heat range for my application. Shipping was fast with good communications so I recommend them highly.

Are NGK J-spec or ASA?(SAE Doh must have been tired last night) just wondering if they are too tall like most american plugs?

The NGK Iridium plugs are the taller SAE format. Denso makes Iridium ISO format plugs, that are the proper length for the SHO. I have been using the NGK Iridium plugs in my 93 ATX car with a healthy shot of nitrous with good results (so far).

The irridium plugs are the newest thing that the forced induction SHO`s are using. They are great for our applications, but won`t do much extra for n/a SHO,and they don`t add horsepower.

I know that OEM's are starting to us Iridium tip plugs for longevity. For example our 2000 Celica GT and 2000 Camry XLE V6 have Iridium tip plugs, its part of the 100,000-mile tune-up program.

Toyota uses Iridium plugs in almost all of there line-up. There suppose to last over 120K miles, and are very expensive.
Echo(02- ), Corolla(02- ), Camry V6, Solara V6, Avalon, Sequoia, LandCruiser. I believe the new 4-runner has them too.

the iridium plugs shouldn't affect performance really.... where you should notice the difference is that they last longer.... the iridium coating makes the plug less likely to foul out... thus the use in NOS or forced induction might be a good idea.... the reason toyota and others use them in their newer vehicles has nothing to do with "bolt-on" horsepower..... unlike the GT-R and siR symbols you can get at any auto parts store.... they aren't designed to drop your quarter mile times.....they are designed to last longer.....example - you put a copper plug with 100k, a platinum plug with 100k, and an iridium plug with 100k miles on them..under equal conditions.... the iridium plug should outperform the other two hands down
