This is an update from my old thread, and I figured I should move it to the correct forum. Hopefully this info can help someone else out in the future.
In trying to trouble shoot the blown IRCM and odd voltage readings, I pulled out the complete harness. I have located the problem area and hopefully my pic will show up in this post, since Ive never posted pics before.
The harness was damaged and rubbed into a few wires, and even cut one in half. The area you see is where the harness wraps around the drivers side of the rear of the engine where the tranny bolts up. (almost directly below the brake MC).
The wires under the fuel rail also looked like they were weak due to excessive heat, but I havent pulled them apart to see if they were damaged.
I will be pulling almost all of the factory wire wrap off to make sure there are no other problem areas, and I will update it if I find another problem area.
If you have had IRCM problems, you may want to take a look at your harness in this area. My car is a 1992 MTX with 167,000 miles FYI.

A little progress on this pile of shart. The wires had been exposed for so long, I had to cut them all back to be able to get away from the corroded copper. Atleast they were salvageable. Its one of those times Im glad I saved some scrap wire. I was able to find the same gauge to section them.

My car had a mess of broken, corroded, or even missing wires, that we fixed. We found many half ass wiring that has been on that car fo many years, that I think find corroded enought to start giving problems. We also found some unground , grounds. or wires that had plugs cut off and taped together. We dont' know if we fixed it, but it runs just fine now.
