When i posted awhile back about where this sensor went for my parallel park assist & lane keeping assist. The darn thing got pushed down behind the bumper from the high pressure washer and it was hanging down between the fender liner and the lower splash shield. I pulled back the liner and reinserted it until it snapped into place. Weird. I thought I lost it for sure. Here's a few photos with it back in. Lmao time will tell how long it stays.

Maybe now you can use the auto park feature since you popped the sensor back in. I’ve never used it but seems like it could be helpful

Right although I haven't tried it yet I don't necessarily need it since where I live parallel parking isn't much of a thing besides in a busy downtown area. I'm just glad it was a quick simple fix!

I’ve got a 2016 I bought new and I’ve used the parallel park 4 times and 3 of them were just to show it off…

Does it instruct you when to gas/ brake or does the system assume people have common sense xD
You don't do anything control-wise. Pull up next to a vehicle with enough space behind it and push the button, then take your hands off the wheel and foot off brakes/gas and it does the rest. Such a popular feature that Ford discontinued it.

If I remember correctly it just tells you when to go forward and reverse, it does the steering. It’s been a few years since I used it.

I'm enough of a curmudgeon to refuse to ever use this feature!
I'm not keen in all the new technology they crammed into every new car dating back to at least 2010. Blindspot monitoring, rear backup sensors, and backup cameras are enough tbh. The forward collision alert, lane keep assist, parallel parking assist is stretching the idea that someone will probably only use it once or twice in their lifetime depending. The adaptive cruise control is another one that's useful but isn't a dire need to keep distance between cars on the highway. But auto hi-beam? Don't like it. I don't like the idea of it potentially causing a problem with a disgruntled motorist on the road who might see high beams as an annoyance or a threat to say the least. But enough of my ranting. You get the point! Half of the features on my car i don't even think twice to use if at all.

I am a fan of the auto-park, but have only used it a few times in the 10+ years we have had the car. But it does amaze me how well it places the car every time. Some sort of voodoo that I will never fully understand.
