Intake

90-95 atx about how long does it take some of you to remove the intake? i was working on the sho and dropped a tool under this intake and now it has to be removed before i get my drive on. i did a search but really couldnt find much. im thinking 10 to 15min , am i way off?

10-15 if you know what you're doing, with air tools (intake bolts). Make that 30 if you never touched a SHO intake before.

I can have mine pulled in a little under 7 minutes...but i've been around the block a time or two with mine. if it's your first time, budget about a half hour, since you'll invariably find stuff you forgot to unhook at least twice.

ok , i have been working on it for a few hours , and only managed to remove the left side. is there a hidden bolt somewhere? anything you had trouble with the first time you removed yours? also my intake is cruddy inside , am i able to clean it , maybe spray some fuel injector cleaner in it? or will that cause probs? thanks for your help.

I can do mine in 20 mins. After you get all the bolts off, dont forget the bracket bolts, the hardest part is removing the the hoses near the throttle body. I did the bypass so its much easier now

i had to do some work last night , so i was unable to proceed with the removal , im still stuck , however i did not remove any hoses from the thottle body , maybe thats why i cant remove the intake? i only have the left side off. any more tips? bracket bolts? i think i already got them - if there are only 2 of em on the front of the intake?

two brackets on front, two on rear (all 4 secured with 12mm bolts: when reinstalling, disregard the rear brackets for ease of future removal)...12 10mm bolts holding runners to heads....1 12mm right beside the IAB....4 12mm bolts securing throttle body....1 big ass vaccuum hose on the back of the intake..one plug for the IMRC, one plug for the IAB, two plugs for the DIS...one big ass vaccuum hose on bottom of the throttle body, two coolant lines near the same place....two more vacuum lines plugging in just behind the throttle body on top, one vaccuum line going from FPR to intake...1 10mm bolt holding wiring harness by EGR....2 8mm bolts holding DPFE sensor on back of intake....two 12mm bolts holding EGR to intake (don't lose the gasket)


Did I miss anything? It's been a while since I yanked an ATX intake...
