Well, this is either a very stupid question or i have a big problem. Last night a friend and i went out. When we got back to his house, he asked to see the motor. We had been driving for about 35 minutes. I showed him and told him about the powdercoated intake i have coming in and all that good stuff. Here's the problem. I touched the intake and it was cold. Well, it was cool. The runners were warm and the valve cover was hot but the tanks were very cool. I'm almost positive i've touched the tanks before and they were very hot. Granted it was 35 degrees out last night, but my car still got to the (A) on the temp gauge. Anything i need to worry about. Car runs nice and all. Just trying to catch something before it turns into something rediculous. thanks in advance.

That's normal Chris. Aluminum does not easily conduct heat. It will heat up, but it takes a while. Had you let the car sit for 15 minutes or so then touched the intake, it would have been quite warm.

Remember that there was 35 degree air flowing through the intake to keep it quite cool. That is why the DIS module is mounted on the crossover tube - to keep it cool. As Rob said, it was the heat soak after engine shutdown that got the entire intake hot. Thirty five degrees? Burrrrrr.
