Installed a new upper plenum today, all painted and the like, after re attaching all the needed coolant and vaccum lines and making sure everything was tight, started the car, wouldnt start unless i applied the gas a bit, car runs fine but wont stay running unless im on it. somone suggested a vaccum leak, after rechecking all the bolts to the lower intake, and all the clamps for the rubber couplers, i sprayed the intake down with soapy water, and didnt find any leaks, hissing, or any signs of a leak. i have no trouble codes ether. a VERY slight adjustment to the idle set screw on the throttle (probably not the best reapir possible) seemed to clear it up with the car idling quietly around 750-900 RPMs aprox. Previously i had lean condition codes but replaced the Y pipe and 02's. no codes now.

I concur, check the grounds. The surface behind the DIS should be paint-free, and the two crossover tube to surge tank brackets have to have bare metal on both sides where the bolt touches and where they touch the crossover tube and surge tanks, as does the mating surface on the surge tanks. Last but not least is the surface around the pass. rear intake bracket where the ground strap connects.

Also make sure both lower bolts for the DIS are installed.

BTW, we're overdue for this week's beer delivery!

Definitely check the ground.

When I reassembled my engine my car would constantly die. It turned out to be the PCM and the MAF, each of which causing a different problem.
