feel free to hose it down, unless the carb cleaner or thinner you use actually sits on rubber for an extended period you will be fine.

If you are using B-12 Chemtool to clean the intake, be sure you have adequate ventilation. That stuff sure does work, but boy is it potent!

You should be fine just spraying it down and cleaning the runners. Enjoy! thumb

There are vacuum lines that go to the secondaries. The canister is held on by a bracket that is located on the rear passenger side of the intake. If you are taking the intake itself apart, be very careful not to bereak them as the will most likely be sort of brittle. The gasket set should be an ordered part, just be careful.

Edit: when i say be careful not to break them, I mean the gaskets. Oh and have fun getting the runners apart...that was a doozy.

Because you tap the button, not just once, multiple times. It's easy to fix be patient tap once and then if double(or even triple) posts happen go and erase them. thumb

Question: does the intake gasket damage easily when removing and re-bolting-on the intake?

:D

Sonicriot, if you are scared that the intake to head gaskets are going to be non-reuseable, just order a pair from fordpartsnetwork.com for $12.49 each. Its pretty much cheap insureance. The rest of the gaskets come in a set you can order from any Garbage-zone or ******** Auto Parts, but they will run you $60 AND it doesn't even come with a throttle body gasket, you gotta buy that seperate for $3.

*ressurects old thread*

I bought a intake manifold gasket set from Napa for $36..includes all the gaskets needed to re-do your intake 'cept the EGR and Throttle Body gaskets (like $2 each). It also includes the intake-to-head gaskets that you'd be paying $25 for alone thru FPN.
