I have a 95 atx, had a post about a month ago that when hot and let sit then when i try to start it it would backfire through the intake. It was suggested for me to replace my CID (camshaft sensor). So I replaced it two days ago, no difference. It will pop through the intake crank for a while longer and then start right up and have a burning smell through the vents for about 5 sec, (not oil, or coolant like) and run fine, doesn't have a driveability prob at all plenty of power! Doesn't do it if it is turned of and restarted within 30 min. Never does it when cold, only when hot and let sit for 1-3 hrs. Cam, and crank sensors only 5 thousand miles old, new cam only 3 hundred miles old. DIS also only 5 thousand old also. My mechanic said my other problem is related to this one....It will also sometimes when cranking crank like it has no juice (wa wa) and the dash lights will dim with the sound, but try it again and it will start right up. He said ignition was advanced to much and causes it to do that, he said both problems have the same source. Please help!
