Ok so I have the intake off my motor and am looking at the wire harness on the rear valve cover. It's melting.

I was looking at header wrap on ebay, and was going to purchase some to protect it with, but then I noticed it said that it was made from fiberglass. Could I instead use some leftover fiberglass (the woven blanket style) used for body repairs instead, and achieve the same effect? What have you done to protect yours?

unfortunately I wont get that in time before my car is reassembled.. I wonder if they would carry something similar at the local industrial/electrical supply store?

I used some hi temp aluminum tape. Basically aluminum foil with an adhesive backing. Works good, I need to re-wrap some parts up front.

I don't think I like the aluminum thingy. If someone who isn't that sharp wraps that around already damaged insulation wires, couldn't that become a nice ground?

Yikes! Well I guess at least the aliens won't be able to communicate with your car with all that aluminum shielding! :nut:

Go to your local speed shop and get a foot of 3/4" to 1' fire sleeve and slit it lengthwise. Should cost about $18 or so.
