It can be done..i have done it. I fortunately have skinny wrist lol so it was easier...there is just enough space for the ratchet to fit on both sides..well at least for the mtx..not sure about the space issue with the atx...

I've done it without taking the intake off and it is not a fun job. I suggest taking it off.

Been there and done it just recently. It sucks, but it can be done.

I ended up taking off the intake to check out some other problems though. While it was off, I re routed them so that they were nice and neat.

Yeah, I'll just take the intake off then. Is it a pretty straight-forward task, taking it off?

Another question also. Do any of you guys use any kind of sealer when you put the intake back on or rock gaskets only?

It's a catch 22 situation. It's easier to do the wires with the intake off, but you have a better chance of getting an intake leak when removing and installing the damn thing.;)

You can re-use the intake to head gaskets if they arein good shape. DO NOT USE RTV!!!!!:thumb:

I've done 5 sets (2 ATX, 3 MTX) without taking the intake off and didn't think it was that bad. I have never wanted to remove the intake without a good reason I guess. 1st set took about an 1 1/2 but can do it now in about 1/2 hour. It is easier if you remove the clips from the coil end and reinstall them when you are done then they fit right through.

Well, I got'r done today. Car runs like a dream now.

On another note, there is no reason the intake should ever have to come off to change plugs and wires, you just need study where stuff is at and take the few things off the back of the intake that are there and bam, plugs and wires with the intake on, no problem, and I'm a noob at this. For those wondering, I was able to run them in the exact same routing too.
