I have a problem here, I ordered a new set of Tie-Rod ends from RockAuto, they arrived last week, but they were different parts - one had a male thread on the inside end and the other one had a female thread on the inside end. I figured one of them was mis-boxed (as both boxes had the EV328 part number), but which one is correct? I called them and told them of the situation, and they sent me a third TRE, also an EV328, which has the female threads. I just want to make sure I have the correct parts before I tear my steering apart.

Thanks.

I'm trying to buy a replacement rack for my car right now. I have a photo in my possession that shows that you need the male thread on the inside of the tie rod. In other words, the steering rack is female.
I can email the photo if you would like. PM me

Just to clarify and finalize this thread for anyone who might be searching for this answer in the future, Orvbaby is correct - the correct tie-rod ends have male threads on them.

After RockAuto sent me *another* female threaded "EV328" TRE which they assured me was from a different warehouse than the others, I gave up, and ended up sending the TREs back to RockAuto and buying them from my local NAPA instead, who gave me the correct part the first time.
