Guys, about 2 weeks ago i replaced my cam position sensor because upon warm start ups it would just turn over and over and over until i put the pedal to the floor...... Well i replaced it with an Orielly autoparts replacement part and here it is 2 weeks later and its doing it again. Did i get a bad part or is it something else? :help:

You apparently replaced the CID sensor for no reason. You have a fuel supply or control problem. Probably a faulty FPR, check valve, or pump.

If you need a different FPR, I have one in perfect working order that I also replaced for no reason. They are EXPENSIVE, so if you need one PM me.

The reason i came to the conclusion was because i asked on here and everyone suggested that. Ill agree that fixed the problem but then it started again. I guess all im asking is is it possible for a part to become faulty that fast? I know i dont have a fuel problem of anykind. Its just doing the same starting problem when warm that it did before. Its not really bothering me but im wondering if i should take back that cam sensor and at least get another one and see if its faulty or not. Has anyone had that kind of thing happen to them before?
Oh and SHOfun93, if it becomes a more serious issue that is fuel related then ill pm you. Thanks for the offer, hopefully it wont come down to that though.

I occasionally have the same problem as you and I know for a fact that my cid sensor does not throw any codes. So I would suspect that its the fuel check valve that is causing your problem.

Like they said, check the codes.

Does the tachometer go to about 800 (give or take 200) when you're cranking it? If it stays at zero it is very often the crank sensor. But the codes should verify.

good luck!

Why not and check to see if it has NO SPARK or NO FUEL when it doesnt start? Then it will be easy to figure out the direction to go in and which system is at fault.

Allways Remember to check the basics First(What is fuel pressure? How much if it does?Does it have spark?

A bad CID will manifest itself as hard starting all the time, not just when hot.

I would check fuel pressure as a first step. I had an FPR fail such that I had too much fuel pressure while it was cold, and too little when it was hot, which made for a very weird running car.

Well guys i thank you all for your advice but i took the new sensor off and took it back and they said it was faulty, gave me a new one and the problem is gone again. They took it to the back to check it so if they honestly checked it i dont know how they did.... But anyhow green bean is problem free now. Thanks guys, Karson
