So today I went to get the parts for my upper 60k went to turn my key and it broke before the first click...I got the key out and tried turning it over with a flat head that I had in my car...It worked. Now i need to know if there is an after market ignition or a stock one of a regular 1990 taurus/sable that will work. Any help?

I think you would remove the cover around the column. There should a pin hole in the bottom of where you insert the key. use the screwdriver and turn the ignition to on. Then push a pin in the hole, it should depress a pin and release the unit.

The ignition needs to be turned to "run" in order to come out and go back in.
