Hello guys and gals, my car did a weird thing to day. It started fine up in the morning in the 35 degree weather, and went to the post office. When I started her back up to get home she started right up but her rpm's were going from .5-1K rpm's. I know, I know I have to clean my IAB valve

. I shut her off and then pressed the gas pedal and cranked her so she won't start because I thought she was flooded with fuel. I did this twice. When I did start her, she was running at 2K rpm's and she was not idling at 600-800 rpm's. I tried to bring the idle down by pressing the gas pedal a few times but no response, she stayed at 2K. I knew my ATX won't like that, so I did not put her in gear. I shut her off and re-started her and she ran fine.
Did I enter a test mode or anything, because she was not coming down from 2K rpm's at all.

My car does this too from time to time (in the cold weather). The rpms will stay constant at 2,000 or so for about 15 seconds, then I can tap on the gas, and it winds up going down. I don't know why it does this, but I personally don't think it's anything to be worried about.

Most likely the IAB valve was sticking and causing the "extra air" to enter the intake. Try thoroughly cleaning the valve, might as well look inside your Throttle body and see if there is any gunky build up in there too.
