Idle Speed (RPMs)

I have a 97, in gear sitting at a stop sign or stoplight my rpms are between 550 and 600. I'm thinking it's a little low, what do you other folks have?

I think the v8 I had was between 650-700. It showed low on the gauge. Are you getting these readings from an XCal, or from the gauge?

Mine always idled about 1 needle's width above that small marking that sits just above 0RPM. Never had any issues.

Normal is anywhere from a dash board tach indicated 500-750 rpm. Mine is about 550, and has been for 200K with no problems.

I have a 98 that has no modifications. right around 700-800 rpm at the gauge.

IIRC in the PCM it's set to something like 654.
