I have been rebuilding my 93 for the last few months and I hit a problem last night that I need help with. When I go to start it I have to give it a little gas to keep it alive then the idle levels out around 900 RPM. about 30 seconds after I start it the RPM jumps to 2000 PRM and dose not fall after that. Any ideas on what the problem could be

perform the idle reset procedure so the pcm knows how to control idle.

Doesnt sound like an idle reset issue if it is dying at 900 rpm, above where it should be. IF the idle is surging, look for a vacuum leak. The IAC can also get clogged; you can take it apart and clean out the insides, then do the idle reset procedure.

i cleaned the fuel injectors and it stopped the dieing part. i did the idle reset procedure but the RPM still jumps up around 2000 RPM in park or nutural. when i put it in gear the RPM go down to about 900 RPM. in the middle of the reset i had an oil line blow and its spraying oil all over the engine bay.

after you fix the oil line, re-do the idle reset procedure.

it may be that you also have a sticky iac.
