Hi,

Baby's been running fine for so long, it was too good to last.

1991 SHO, replaced the steerign rack. When I lowered the rear SF though, the DIS hit the bracket for the torque limiter, and got munched beyone use. stupid me.

Car wouldn't start, so I popped the hood, saw shattered DIS, replaced, started fine and I drove it out.

Problem is this: Now, car will not idle worth a crap, It idles at 3200, sometimes 2000, sometimes 1000 jumping up to 1500 up and down up and down up and down.

What it's got: larger TB, and 73MM C&L Maf, CAI into fender. I replaced the DIS with another from another 5 speed, same problem. Replaced intake upgrades back to stock maf, stock airbox, plain filter, same problem. replaced ECU with one from another car, same problem.

NO codes with the snap-on scantool.

Any thoughts? Im leaning toward throttle position sensor, but im suspicious the DIS destruction had something to do with it.

Nook,

Check the trottle linkage for the cruise and the throttle cable. If they're binding, the throttle plate might not be closing fully.

Other choices: IAB valve unplugged/inoperative/missing power or supply or perhaps the crushing of the DIS module damaged wiring internal to the connector. As I recall, the CID and CPS sensor inputs go into the DIS via that connector.

My suspicion is that the IAB is fighting something to control that idle or else it picked this moment to fail.

STOOPID me.

It was the throttle cable, it got kinda really bent around the top of the left torque shock assembly top, brought it back over, idle droppped right back down to 900 and stayed there.
