Just trying to get some ideas for some club activities and locations for next year. Here are some ideas I have.
Rally
Drag night (W.I.R. in Kaukana?)
Track time (look into costs for Road America and Blackhawk farms)
60K party
Superbowl Party
Joint club meet with SHOcago

As for locations, I am inclined to plan most things within an hour of Milwaukee, as this is the area we are drawing the most active members from. Our Wausau meet once again had limited success in drawing members from that area of the state (everyone attending with one exception came from the eastern part of the state.) I would like to continue to try to do things in the central part of the state, but if we are only going to have one person show up from that area, I'm not sure if it is really a feasible option.

Lets here comments and ideas for the coming year!

All sound like good ideas, I like the joint meet and the 60k party! Can mine be the demo car, pretty please, my valves are getting SO loud!

I doubt if I'd drive to Wausua or 3+ hours away agian, that was kinda a waste IMHO, especially since you said it happened that way before.

Still having any sort of superbowl thing?

I also think just a general tech meet (or meets) would be worthwhile. We can take someone's car and perform something relatively simple (cleaning the intake, replacing brakes, etc.) and go through everything step by step for people who may not know how to do those things but want to learn. The WI chapter of the SVTOA does these things once a month; while I wouldn't expect WISHOC to do something like that, we could certainly pull a few people together to make this happen at least a couple of times next year.

Just a thought shrug

Also, stickied this thread. If anyone has any suggestions, put them up here. The more input you have, the better these meets can be thumb

I like any idea of a maintenance/mod party on a weekend when some people may be more freed up and do not work the next day (I work at 2AM !). Obviously, someone with decent tools and a semi-heated garage would be required for a winter session. I know of a heated aircraft hanger, with tools and I will talk with the guy and see what he says. Here's the place:

Have a joint SHOCago party during the Packers/Bears game on 12/7 ? NO tech session necesary ... just team bragging rights.

SuperBowl party could work well.

My SHO is resting for the winter.
"Why do you store that old Taur-ass ?"

Holy shit, that hanger blows the **** out of my garage eek! hail . I wish I could have a garage like that.

Anyway, I have thought about having a fairly simple maintainence party here at my house some time in Jan/Feb. Just something simple like Intake Removal/cleaning and brakes or something like that. Let me know what you guys think, because if there is enough demand, I would certainly not think twice about doing this. I just need a guinea pig shrug thumb

EDIT: I can pick some Saturday in either January or February to do a maintainence party. If I know what day it will be before hand, I can swap days with someone at work without a problem.

I have also been working on a website, and I need to get in contact with Clint and Jason to show it to them. The site I've designed is somewhat interactive, has an event calendar, a classifieds form, and I've been looking into getting a UBB wink

Andy-go ahead and plan a tech meet at your place. I will definately be there (need all the knowledge I can aquire!)

I was thinking of having the Superbowl party at my house (in Green Bay).

If there is interest in a 60k party for this spring/summer, I will try to get an experienced 60k'er to come and guide us on our cars (may have to pay a guy for that!)

Keep the ideas coming! thumb

Damn Tom, thought you died or something eek! .

What dates would be good for a tech meet? Anytime in January or February would be fine; I can easily get someone to cover for me.

The guy with the aircraft hangar said there is a
"possibility" because he said his insurance company frowns upon non-aircraft activity there. So, if we really need one I would think we could set it up if I know far enough in advance during the cold months. Obviously once it warms up, we don't need it.

Keep me in the loop.

Thanks,

If we can use the hangar, great, but if not, that's fine too. I don't want to cause any trouble between your friend and the owners of the hangar or anything. I have a heated garage, plus tools, and I would be more than happy to host something like this. If I throw a date out there now, can anyone who wants to come be sure to reserve that day? I don't want to schedule some meet, only to have 2 or 3 people show up. This is something I'd like there to be a halfway decent turnout for. Also, if anyone wants to give me a hand in doing this (I'm thinking this should be tailored to n00bs who don't know much about cars) send me a PM or email. For the first time we do one of these things, I don't want to go all out. Maybe brakes, intake cleaning/dismantling, or something similiar. shrug I know I'm repeating myself, but I haven't really gotten any feedback on what anyone would like to do for this. shrug

I would like to see the intake taken apart (as it is necessary for the 60K).

No-any reports of my internet demise are greatly exaggerated, although I have been quite busy lately, and not had a lot of time for being on the computer. The rugrat sucks up an amount of time inversely proportionate to her size-very small person requires immense expenditure of time (AND MONEY eek! )

I too think a joined meeting with the SHOcago would be fun, lots of SHO.

Any or all of those ideas sound like fun.

How about we all go somewhere and do something active non driving related.... ie... mini golf, bowling.

I like 93redATX, general tech meet would be cool.

I'll try and conjure up some more ideas thumb
