Hi guys, I recently cleaned out my intake manifold, replaced those gaskets, and put it all back together. I had problems with her stalling out when she dropped below 950 RPMS, as it turned out some crap got knocked into the IAC valve, I cleaned it all out, and she was good. Well, now shes started to do it again, but only once in awhile. I'm thinking not the IAC, but something else. I'm wondering where the hose coming off of the IAC goes to. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. Anyway, I could use the help. Thanx guys.

I guess youre talking about the two hoses that come off the bottom of the Idle Air Bypass Valve (or IAC)... Im pretty sure those are coolant hoses..

When you cleaned out your intake, did you gumout the little tunnel that travels to the IAC? Mine was sorta full of gunk, you may try sticking the gumout straw in there and attempting to clean that out. I could see gunk clogging the IAC from there.

That's something I didn't even think of, I will have to try that out. I was more so curious about the one right on top, and (when facing the engine) left of the throttle body, and right of the IAC. (you can even see it in the shoforum pic on this page. What does that one go to? Thanx.

Did you check the pipe to the EGR? If there is a hole in it it may cause these problems as well. Is all paths to it cleaned?

There is an IAB...that's the valve. The IAC is actually a solenoid, If I'm thinking correctly. That might be going bad too, which would cause starting problems.

Which gaskets id you replace? Iven if you just replaced them, check your spark plug wells...see if they're covered in oil from poorly seated or shrunken (if you didn't just replace them)gaskets.

After you cleaned the IAB, did you run the "reset idle" procedures? That might help. They're in the delivered manual. Something like:
1. Start engine (preferably warm)
2. Allow to run and settle down for 30 secs or so
3. Load the engine by turning on headlights (brights), A/C full, and radio.
4. Turn steering wheel 1/4 turn each direction
5. Step on brake pedal
6. Allow to idle for at least 5 minutes to get used to the new conditions

Thanx for all your help guys, it turns out it definately was the IAC, so I ordered one up from Ford today...I'll have it monday. 100 bucks...gone. Ohh well.

Loudsho, question, where'd you get the white gauge faces, I've seen them for gen 3's but not 2's. They look really hot and I'm trying to find them. Thanx guys, appreciate it.
