My random thoughts...and perhaps someone could photochop this....

If it was mine, I'd paint the rest of the hood gloss black, leaving the scoop red...tint the windows and throw some rims on it...then fiberglas or bondo the scoop to the hood, making it look like it was fabricated on. Then I'd cut a gaping hole in the hood so that it's actually functional.

But then, I'm a sick guy...I have this thing for multi-hued paint jobs. :thumb:

Should have put that $98 toward saving for the cowl.

I have an extra, brand new never used. Has an imperfection in the weave design on the cowl part, would work perfect if you were to paint the hood. If you were local I'd sell it to you. No way I'm up to ship a c/f hood.

How much?

It's not my thing, but you seem to have done it well. The wonderful thing about the SHO is that it offers a blank canvas to each of us. I wish you good luck with yours.

How come no one's done a reverse style scoop....say, Terminator Cobra hood?

Well I think the OP's looks decent. I probably wouldn't like it enough for my car, but I think it looks ok. I don't care for naval-avi8or's as much though. And I have never liked the cowl hoods at all.

i been thinking of doin a scoop also, ive been looking on sumitt racing, they have alot of ABS stick on scoops, but the ones i like are the ones that look just like the center part of a cowl hood , making the stock hood look like a cowl for $50, heres a link http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-471510&N=700+115&autoview=sku thats the smallest one they make, then theres 2 others that are bigger, or these possibly http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-471107&N=700+115&autoview=sku

The first scoop posted doesn't look bad, but does appear out of place. Then again, Im not even a big fan of the cowl hoods.

I dont think the first one looks bad...i mean, i have seen some nasty scoops around here. I like the fact that its done with a SLO Hood. It gives it better flow.

i don't think that it looks too bad, but it is just the fact that the rest of the car is so stock that the hood kinda throws me for a loop!!! it would probably make a world of difference if you tinted the windows and maybe dropped it and sported some wheels! just my $.02.....

x2

naval aviator: isnt that the v8?
