Its a Taurus...
Well guys my new 93 has the audio upgrade with the sub, however the sub was blown and the stereo sounded horrible. I figured some people might benefit so I figured is post this. I took the sub out of the car and as most subs are when they blow, the rubber had separated from the cone. I don't have any pics of what I did (shoulda taken some for ya guys) but its not to hard to do. I took some regular silicon rtv after cleaning off the loose rubber pieces (this fix wont work if your rubber is deteriorated really bad) and some paper towels. I put some rtv between the cone and rubber and then shoved the paper towels under the cone to hold it up against the rubber. Then I just spread some (pretty generous amount) rtv all around the whole cone, enough to hold the cone and rubber together. Then I let it dry for 2 days to make sure it was dry, and just pressed on it a few times to make sure it wouldnt rip off again. I threw it back in the car and wala! stereo sounded amazing, I cranked it up and it it didn't blow out. Iv had it like this for about a week and so far so good. This whole process of removing the sub ,rtving, and reinstalling took maybe an hour and it was WELL worth it.
Now I did this only because I didn't have the money for a new sub, im sure a brand new one or using a sub repair kit would sound much better. A new sub is about 50-60 bucks and the repair kit is about 20, rtv from my garage PRICELESS:laugh_ti: I crack myself up. Anyway hope this helps some people
