Hey guys, I just bought a new kenwood deck and the connectors are nothing alike from the old cassette player to the new deck.

I have the plain old Premium Sound and no factory cd player.

The new deck has ONE 16 pin connector and 1 antenna connector.

The old cassette has a 8 pin, a rectangle power connector and the antenna connector.

I am going to bypass the factory amp but the problem is the dash area. HOW DO I BYPASS THE AMP?

How do I go about installing the new deck. Do I splice the wires from the 8 pin, how do I get Power?

I am confused so someone please enlighten Me.

IS THERE A SIMPLE HARNESS I CAN BUY TO HOOK UP THE DECK. ALSO I HAVE HEARD THE TERM BYPASS KIT FOR THE FACTORY AMP?

I need to learn!

Thanks
Phil Fraser

Go to Circuit City and ask for a MET KN-1680 and a 1990-1998 Ford amp integration cable. The MET KN1680 will plug directly in the back of your Kenwood deck and the other cable will mate to it. There will be a wide gray connector and a squarish gray connector on the same end. Pretty self explanatory here, plug the gray plug into the gray recepticle, and the gray cable with the black plug with metal on it goes in the squarish cable. The only downside I've found to integrating the factory radio is that sometimes you'll get radio station bleedover into your CD audio when the volume is low, otherwise it rocks. Total cost is like $23
