Hi all,

I’ve done my due diligence searching here and the ecoboost/Taurus forums and can’t quite find the answer I’m looking for.

Yesterday I installed my LC2i and amplifier and I believe I tapped into the wrong wires on the DSP(ACM?), the sub does not respond to the volume **** on the radio and outputs a constant level of volume.

I tapped into C4326A pins 7,17,9,19 which per the pin outs I was able to find online should be the input side of the factory amp coming off the radio. All the forum threads I read agreed these were the wires I should be tapping into as they are “unprocessed” which I took to mean they aren’t highpassed in any way. But considering the problem I have, should I be tapping into the output? Or potentially from a speaker on the rear deck? I have the Sony sound system but I don’t believe it’s the 12 speaker premium system. Obviously I’d like to find a signal source that will both respond to the volume **** on the radio and contain the appropriate frequencies. Thanks in advance guys

For reference it’s a 2015, I do not believe it’s a PP car. PS I’m going to clean up the wiring and make sure there’s no interference tonight, it was cold as shit and i didn’t feel like it at the time.

Can you post some pictures of the wiring diagram you used and/or connections at the factory amp? I tapped into the output side of the factory amp. It's pretty easy to test for positive/negatives using the 9V battery trick. But I do feel like the factory amp sometimes limits the signal sent to my aftermarket amp so if it's possible to pull a signal before the factory amp, that would be better.

i didn’t know we had an amp from factory, i was looking into getting an amp wired up for 6 150w 6x9’s i have (4 doors and 2 rear deck). Can we just replace the stock one with a factory one? anyone have links to other threads with people putting amps in for their door speakers? any information would be appreciated!

Yep, it's behind the carpet on the left side of your trunk. Search the forum. It's been a while since I've seen any threads but several guys here have replaced some or all of their factory speakers.

For anyone else searching for this information in the future, these are the connections i used and it works good enough for me. using a LC2i LOC and a basic amplifier for my 12".

edit: there is also a amp on wire in connector C4326A i used for the remote signal

The wires from the head unit go to the trunk amp as pre-amp inputs I would imagine. This being the case is there a way to grab the feed from the head unit and convert it to RCA and then feed an AMP? TIA

Line output converter is what you need. I used one to tap into a speaker line and ran my amp fine (not my SHO). Some have more tunability than others but as long as it goes onto a preamp line it should do the trick. This is just one example Line output converter
