Safest would be Intrax 1.5in. drop in the front and 1.0in. in the rear. I've also heard of people cutting a dead coil off the front intrax to give a slightly lower stance and even out with the rear.

Perhaps someone else can say a lil bit more regarding the cutting of the dead coils?

Thanks

What set up are you running?

There was a couple of cars at the convention with the ground control coilover kits. [well one was from MidwestSHO, but I wont discuss that here] And they had them as low as they could go. FWIW, they said they could have gone lower, but they wouldn't have been able to get the jack out from under the car.

It kinda sucks, because in order to do anything up front i have to jack the back end up first so i can get some leway to slide a jack up underneath the front end, i had to use 3 jacks to change my front tire  but actually i dont know what setup the guy has on the car, if i remember right its intrax with 3? coils cut off, something like that. But suprisingly the car rides as a stock car, no jumping, no bouncing, nothing. But yeah, not bad for $500.00!!

 I dont think the intrax have three coils to cut off. If they did, that would be all of the dead coils.

can someone tell me a lil bit more on cutting of the dead coils on FRONT intrax? The dead coil is the coil that TOUCHES all the way around another coil, the one that is the top one, correct? And on the rear springs, the dead coil is in the rear?

Its hard to tell in this picture, but you can see the three coils at the top that are closest together? Those are the dead coils. They are there only to give height, which is why its okay to cut one off.

Oh ok, i got yah, thanks for the pic. So i was right, the dead coils on the fronts are on the top? If you were to cut ONE, how far would you go until cutting? And with what?

You basically cut the coil off. Just take a hack saw or something and saw through the coil where the coils start. If that makes sense. I have been told that you want to use something that will not create a lot of heat because you may distort the spring itself.

Yeah i heard you dont wanna add heat to em, im sure i can find something to cut with, its just that i need to know exactly how much to cut. Perhaps just take a reasonable guess and not cut too much, and eaqually on both springs.
