i am planning on replacing the rear speakers with 6*9's and wanted to also put in some 750 watt MTX Thunder8000 Subs. I have the electrical know how to do wiring and other things but never have done anything with a stero system.

its very easy, even when i had only medium experience putting in stereos i found subs to be no huge challege. if you would like some help email me and i can give you some pointers or tips
on running wires. you may not even have to drill holes to run your power wire. only thing though is do you have an aftermarket deck or are you running the stock jbl?

i still have my stock jbl system but i look forward in either putting in the stock cd player with it also because my sho is a 90 and dont have it, or putting in a new CD-R/CD-RW cdplayer.

i forgot to add that this wont be done another month or two untill i get enough money.

word of advice, unless your using cd-rw's alot, EVERY cd player can read a cd-r, i would hate to see you waste your money. i have used plain cd-r's in everything from 1st generation discmans to pioneers and kenwoods, and even my stock 93 JBL SHO cd player, and never ever ever had problems. now if you keep the stock system the only catch is getting a wiring diagram to find the remote turn on line in the rear for the stock amps so you can use it for the sub amp. im sure you can find that answer here at the forum though. after market will make life easy just because the remote amp control is clearly labeled.

Yes you will need an aftermarket head unit to make things much easier. Though for CD-Rs I have found that some CD players do not take them but they were older players.
I hope you will be getting an amp for the subs to power them. Unless you are looking for a serious system you may want to get the 6000 series subs because the 8000 are high up there in sound and price. Just some advice.
