So i got new motor mounts and the second i drive my car i notice the shifter move back as i give it power. The more power i give it the more it moves. So i put it in first with e brake and the engine didnt move more then 3/4". Im thinking sub frame bushings? shrug Im also getting new solid tq. limiters soon so that hopefully will help keep my engine under control.

Have someone move the wheel back and forth while you have your hood open; if your engine moves you need subframe bushings. Put the solid TQ limiting mounts in first but i', pretty sure you need new bushings. Get ASB's from MidwestSHO. thumb

I strongly recommend against using the solid rod torque limiters to replace the hydraulic roll dampers. They are a very poorly designed attempt to fix a weakness in the motor mounts. The brackets and mounting locations for these dampers are not designed to handle the forces created when they are attached to the engine with a solid rod. The rods also transmit a great deal of engine noise and vibration directly into the passenger compartment.

With the right (read: solid / reinforced) engine mounts, the stress on the solid tq limiters / brackets / strut towers are minimal. As for vibration, yup, there is a moderate increase in NVH whenever you replace something rubber / pneumatic with something solid. Know what though? With the reinforced mounts and the solid limiters, my engine doesn't MOVE, and that means the tq is going to the ground.

It all depends on what you are willing to give to get.
