isnt there a difference between the SHO and slo pumps? they only show one pump for covering all the taurus applications. also, i was looking on rockauto, and found an entire assembly fuel pump assembly. part # SP230H would that be a good buy?

Even though it list the other Taurus it is made for the SHO.

Included in the kit is the SHO fuel pump install kits

drive the car until the light comes on....then drive it another 40 miles.

You want your tank as empty as possible.

dropping the tank isn't that bad. To me its easier than cutting up the floor.

Fuel pumps don't go out that much so doing the floor mod to me is unnecessary work but to each their own.

If you aren't dropping the tank then it doesn't matter just don't bump anything too hard. Sparkies are bad!

That's not the service manual.

"Heat transfer compound" is what Ford called it then - it's now referred to as Brake Caliper Grease & Dielectric Compound (Motorcraft XG-3A). Previously it was referred to as "Ford ESFM-99E123-A Thermo-Grease", and then "Silicone Dielectric Compound WA-10; ESE-M1C171-A (Ford p/n D7AZ-19A331-A).

I know, I know... old thread. I was just wondering if RCSAVAGE installed the new fuel pump and if it solved the hesitation problem. There was never a conclusion posted. The other thread he references about having the exact problem is mine. I haven't replaced my pump yet. (the hesitation is just annoying, not debilitating) But, if he had major success with replacing his, I'd be more motivated to replace mine. I've exausted all other reasonable solutions trying to solve my hesitation.
