Check for codes if there is any. May be crank or cam sensor, i always forget which causes what. When one of those kicks the bucket when driving it causes all those issues.

Chad should be on here soon. Aka @Irish Pride

Sounds like a classic crank sensor issue. There was a group but for some new sensors recently, so you should be able to locate one. Replacement takes some work. Are you your own mechanic?

Yes I am my own mechanic and the crank sensor is getting power the rpms aren't at 0 they are jumping up to 500 rpms when it cranks

The 642 is a code for auto trans so that is incorrect if you have an mtx. The fuel pump code is usually tripped whenever the car stalls. I am inclined to agree that the 211 is crank sensor fault (PIP pick up ignition profile) that caused the stall/no start.

You will have to dig for these units. They have been out of production for a while and not in the inventory of Ford or aftermarket suppliers. The link in zoomlater's post is to a person that had a very small run made to use on Tbirds and Taurus. They are not cheap and not sure how many are around. You can always try and roll the dice if you find a used unit.

You dont think it could be because of the ccrm being faulty and shutting off the injectors and fuel pump as well?

If the crank sensor was failing then the rpm should stay at zero when you crank the car correct?

A faulty ccrm can prevent running as obviously can a faulty fuel pump. If you turn the key to run and hear the pump prime it should start if fuel is a concern. That is not my first inclination. Keep in mind, this is a just a response to info provided on the interwebs without being able to mess with it. So symptoms filtered through highest likely scenario in conjunction with a high failure rate part is guiding my answer. So is the code 211. A faulty CCRM will not trigger this code.

Tach at 0 is usually a Camshaft sensor issue. Bad cam sensor can start after many repeated attempts, and won't cut the car off driving at speed in my experience.

211: the CPS pooped out on you and needs replacing. The reason is almost certainly that the water pump sprung a leak and shorted out the CPS, killing the car. Started fine again once the CPS had dried out. Even so, the CPS has been compromised and needs replacing.

Take a look at the water pump shaft. There's a couple of weep holes in it. You can see one of them in the top of the shaft. The other is in the bottom. See if you can't take a look at that hole: the CPS harness may have to be moved. If you see a river of gunk that came out of it, it's been leaking.

I'm going to check the CPS but under the car is dry it hasn't been leaking from anywhere I've seen and the fuel pump makes a grinding noise when it wont start and any other time it starts the fuel pump whines as it should but it seems after i fill the gas tank it cuts off and doesnt want to start for awhile until it cools down I'm going to check the CPS tommorrow!

Is the cps would the fuel pump make a grinding noise?
